The 1:35 scale model has an incredible amount of detail.

If you want to see a bigger one you need to go with the picture ship.

I'm not sure if this is the same one I saw at PAX a couple years ago, but it's very cool.

Nice! That's an interesting (and expensive!) hobby he has! Probably Lego's parent company supports him? Just a guess.

Reminds me of this:

The Girls und Panzer girls standing beside a small model of their "city ship" which they go to school on. That ship is over 7 kilometres long in the show, and is not the biggest one out there! That's about 22,000 feet long, this model seems to be about 45 feet? So it's 1/500 scale :p Lolz! Only in anime!

The other city-ships in the show:

It's a terrific show! I cannot recommend it enough for anyone remotely interested in tanks or anime.

gohikineko Expensive is right.  I got one of my children Lego Ship in a bottle for Xmas. It cost $100 and was almost 1000 pieces. I got the other one the Millenium Falcon which was around $140 and close to 1,400 pieces.  I'm sure though if you're building something like this you are not buying your bricks retail.  As a side note it took them both less than 45 minutes to put them both together -- for some reason they think it's a race.
