Unfortunately, the nearest recycling plant near me is 25 miles away. I don't use a whole lot of plastic. A daily sandwich baggie, and trash bags, so my choices are to either make a weekly trip with such little plastic, or horde my garbage... none of those are viable solutions.

It's versatile, useful, easy and cheap to produce.  It's advanced medical procedures and saved and extended lives.

THAT'S what we're 'addicted®'.

Solution is easy: Find a replacement that is just a versatile, useful, easy and cheap to produce.

megrendel Maybe an alternative is to restrict the use of plastics. Particularly in commercial aspects, ie no more plastic soda bottles. Keep the plastics in industrial uses and medical uses.

But you are right, finding a replacement for plastic would be fantastic; that is, unless it's even worse for the planet.

If only we could find an organic way to break down plastic. What could go wrong?
