Nope. Never wondered that. That kind of kettle isn't seen in the US.
Just your bog standard kettle with whistle on a stove.

Gerry1of1 Agreed.  And no self-respecting Southerner would EVER bring it to a boil.

The proper way to make tea is Sweet Tea meant to be poured over ice.  You bring the tea to a low simmer...then you turn it off and let it steep.  The longer the better. Then you make a pitcher of sweet tea with it.

megrendel Were you brought up in a barn ?
You put the tea and water in a large glass jar and put it in the sun to brew slowly .   Sun Tea is the only way to make iced tea.

Gerry1of1 Sun tea is nice, but I like mine STRONG!.

Four (4) Family-size tea bags, simmer and let steep for at least half a day.   Then use plenty of sugar.

megrendel The Strongest Sweet Tea I drank was in Savannah Georgia at a Pulled Pork stand, It almost looked like iced coffee, but with a slight red tint, and had enough sugar in it to give you an instant brain stimulation kick comparable to a Monster...
Basically, sip, blink, I'm Awake!
