Now they just need to find a way to simulate anti-aircraft flak and you would REALLY have the experience.

My dad signed up for the RAF when hen he turned 18. By the time he was 20 he was a flight sergeant on Lancasters doing night missions over occupied Europe. I will never know how that felt.

At the same time my mum was driving an ambulance through the blitz. She was 19.

And then the war ended and they just got on with life.

I really got interested in these after seeing the Amazing Stories episode where the belly-gunner was trapped in the turret and the landing gears were disabled.  Great post!
