10 Photos From Kalron's Hard Drive

Submitted by: kalron 1 month ago in Entertainment Funny
It's been awhile since Fancy's hard drive died.  I thought it would be nice to revive these types of posts, I am hoping we can get a variety of genre from the other Mods.  My images will mostly consist of nerd culture, because it's my hard drive!  Hopefully you'll find something to brighten your day :)

Thanks to this post i'm starting to watch V.

I must admit it was very confusing to find out what order to watch at first.

But apparently there's V the miniseries (1983), V the final battle (1984), V the TV series (1984-1985) and V the new series (2009-2011).  I'm watching the first part of the V miniseries (1983) after finding a free stream link. I hope it's good

gohikineko  one of the reasons V was cancled was it was too expensive . each laser blast  was 10 to 15 thousand dollars. It was not a low budget tv show. At the time it was the most expensive show   on tv

thezigrat Correct sir.  It employed special effects reserved only for movies at the time due to budget costs.  The makeup, miniatures and models as well as the blue screen effects were beyond anything a TV Miniseries had ever produced before.

Who would ever believe that reptilian aliens   posing as humans would come to Earth stating they would cure all Earth ills  only to actually eat them.  Highly improbable

We would never do that

That lady with the wool clothing is apparently inspired by Tom Baker, from Doctor Who.  K-9 is poking out of her handbag, the hat matches, and the outfit matches his Scarf.

monkwarrior   Well spotted. She somehow looked familiar to me. She's wearing
a matching floppy hat like Dr Who and her knit dress is the long scarf the Doctor
always wore.  Big fan or at a convention maybe

Memory cards- one in the truck, one in the camera, two sitting on my desk, one in the switch and one that I use to transfer movies to the xbox...oh and I guess one in each of the phones, so 3 more.

The Boba-Fett one here just cracks me up.  What a way to deflate an iconic character that is supposed to be "cool".  Without the helmet he looks like he is trying out pick-up lines from a cheesy '80 "How To" book.

kalron The guy who played The Fett (Jeremy Bulloch) can be seen out of his Mandalorian armor in Empire. In the scene where Luke has just arrived in Cloud City and starts shooting at the Imperial troopers who are escorting Leia, Chewbacca and C3PO.
He's the officer hiding behind Leia.

oobaka I honestly don't thing that is actually Jeremy Bulloch in the image I posted.  It doesn't look like him.  I wonder if there was a stand-in at some point while shooting RotJ.

kalron I agree, that's definitely not Jeremy Bulloch, a stand in could certainly have been the case, perhaps for certain stunts.

skypirate Im not sure i have 10 unique pics on my hard drive.  Or if i do it's mainly my own creations, i don't take pictures much.  I could maybe do a 1-time post of 5 pictures from monkwarriors hard drive.  One might be of the ants that raided my place and another pic of the mixture i made, with them surrounding it, then the pic of the next day where all the ants died.   Maybe another of some grass, or a tree.  I almost had a picture of a wild lynx though.. but i was too slow.

kalron Well, in that case, I might try to slap something together.

Also, going from OFFs, I think there might be a few IABers who would be good at this.

Point for the V poster.
I'm certain V is the reason people think the Royal family and Illuminati are shape
shifting lizard men.

megrendel That part freaked me out as a kid, more so than the lizard make-up.  But the thing I remember most that frightened me was the birth scene.

Gerry1of1 I have a special place in my heart for this miniseries.  I was very young when that show first came out, but they replayed it occasionally.  One summer, when I must have only been 4 years old or so, we would watch it with our neighbors and they had a couple of girls that were in the 4-6 range.  (In retrospect, it wasn't really an appropriate show for kids our age, but oh well.)

Anyway, we were all outside playing and my dad offered to slice up some watermelon for us.  Coming outside with the large knife, he tripped on the steps and the knife flashed across his arm, leaving a streak of green 'blood.'  He grabbed his arm, looked around wildly for a moment, and fled inside.

I have never since seen anyone run as fast as those two girls  They screamed once and fled in mortal terror - not once did they ever return to our house.  My brothers and I were fine, of course - even at 4 years old I was used to this type of behavior from my dad.
