What is most evident in this video is the two Americas that exist today.

The group that Trump famously praised in his speech saying "I love the poorly educated!" and the rest of America (Muslims, African Americans, Educated White Americans, Hispanic Americans etc etc)

As we now know, the only group that voted overwhelmingly in favor of Republicans were White Males (60%+). All other groups did not. And when we dissect the White men into Educated and Trump's favorite "Poorly Educated", we see that 53% of College Educated White Males voted for Democrats.

Nothing shines through in this video more than that American dichotomy.

Wisconsin's gubernatorial race is 600 votes apart with 98% reporting. That is crazy.

Republicans are keeping the senate, but they had fewer seats to defend. We'll see if they pick up a seat.

Democrats are taking the house, maybe by a lot. Trump, prepare for a blue wave of subpoenas.

Beto lost his way right into a presidential primary. Let's see Trump give him a nickname. I'd love to see those 2 debate.

One race I watched closely was AZ senate. AZ hasn't had a democratic senator in 3 decades. Now we put up a bi-sexual atheist who led most of the polls. Race is too close to call at the moment but looks like she might lose because of the 30,000 votes the green party candidate siphoned off in mail in ballots before she dropped out. Fucking 3rd party candidates ruin another election.

Gillum going down in Florida sucks, but Colorado just elected the first gay governor. Democrats should pick up a few governorships by the end of the night.

holygod "Beto lost his way right into a presidential primary"

That is an excellent observation.  He did very well for what it is worth.  I'm still curious about the reports of straight D early ballots switching to R when hitting enter, but I doubt we will see anything about that again.

FL and GA results are suspect, especially GA, where you have the incumbent running the F'n election oversight.  That's just wrong.

I figured the Senate was going to be a long shot but taking the House again is a huge victory and the rest of the Governor elections are looking like they are going blue this year.

I agree about 3rd party fucking up elections, and I'm a proud registered Independent.  When something as important as this midterm election is happening and you know damn well you have no chance of winning, step aside and let those votes count toward something instead of nothing.

holygod My takeaway.  Trump's nativist and nationalistic message was good enough to get people to still vote for his candidates.  That's scary.  That message is spreading.  Good news is in a lot of purple areas that message is turning people off a lot of good pick ups for the D's.  However the South is doubling down in support of Trump. Trump was able to carry a candidate he called Lyin Ted, made fun of his wife, etc.  Racists won, pretty much every candidate that had ties to White Nationalism in the South or was supported  by White supremacists  in the south won.  That's crazy if you think about it.  There's so much partyism/tribalism it's sad.  If you look to your side and racists are voting for your candidates and you don't see an issue with that I dunno what to say.

D's need to keep up the messaging and actually do things for middle to lower class people if they want to be a relevant party.  There's a bunch of voters there, but you have to speak to them.  Also Nancy P can't be the speaker.  If she becomes speaker you may as well just concede 2020 to Trump.

The GOP message is sound.  We love guns, we hate abortion, we hate dirty immigrants, We love strongmen.  D's need to be firm and fair.

normalfreak2 Democrat also need to embrace the salt of the Earth. After all, these people have the most again if Democrats start caring for them, because it's been proven that the Republicans don't.. at least not beyond lip service.

normalfreak2 This whole resurgence of racism as a political motivator is what makes me sick the most.  You nailed it when saying that if you are voting for someone who is running on a platform that is pandering to these fucks just because it's "your party", then you are just as disgusting as they are.
