Cool! It's cool how much insight you can get about a culture just from looking at their swords

metalgreymon I agree. Just the faintest of indications on the swords tell so much when an expert, such as this curator, looks at them.

No love for this video? I really enjoyed it -- but then I'm rather addicted to history and antiquities. The payoff with this video, by the way, comes in the last two minutes, so be sure to watch the whole thing.

squrlz4ever I really enjoyed the video, love history and antiques as well. Loved how it showed just the everyday wear and rune on the hilt, makes it   somehow more real

PosisDas Thanks, PD. Yes, I was intrigued by the pose of the arm on the sword that the curator demonstrated. I wonder if movie directors of historical dramas have been made aware of this? I'd like to see a movie depicting Anglo-Saxon times where this pose was used by the actors for authenticity's sake.
