And, if a woman had said "Men ruin everything", that would not be a good thing either.

Fire him, nah, he's a jock doofus. Just slap his wrist and remind him it works both ways.

I mean... some of those shorts can get REALLY tiny for chicks. Sure guys (and gals too I guess), you can look, but dont make a lewd comment or touch please.

When I was in middleschool/highschool, I always felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable even getting changed into/out of my gym uniform. The judgy women around me were more to worry about than some dude looking at my legs.

Anyways, this guy just ruined things and hes a dude, take that!

Naz14 My friend, back in the day, wore his torn blue-jean shorts to school one summer. They were REALLY short! Thong-like, long before thongs were 'a thing' eh? He eventually got sent home and told not come back without proper pants on... so he skipped school for 2 weeks :-)

gohikineko Why in the world would you wear thong like blue jean shorts lol!!! That sounds incredibly uncomfortable.

Naz14 Oooo? Never worn a thong? Lolz! It's alarmingly comfortable after the first 5-10 seconds of... squirming :-)
And I saw them... he looked damn good in them! No homo!!! He's a handsome guy :-)

Given the current national conversation I would have expected most HS principals to be emphasising that girls should be respected, not grabbed, groped or thrown onto a bed. Spend some time on that. It seems to be an issue.

This clown chose instead to say "Hey boys, any problem in your life is the fault of girls." Sure. Dress code? Girls fault. Can't get laid? Girls fault. Accused of sexual assault? Girls fault. Life not working out for you? blame your bitch of a wife.

LordJim We don't run around saying 'girls should be respected' because everyone is supposed to KNOW that already. Just like you don't run around saying 'don't chew on broken glass!' or something, eh?

As pointed out below, perhaps it is girls wearing the 'improper' clothing that is the 'cause' of this warning which includes the boys too? We don't know.
To make the fallacy that this guy also believes those other things isn't logical or likely... Also it was said in jest: jokes don't necessarily reflect one's philosophy, in fact they are often the opposite.

A lot of men don't. We could start at the Oval Office and work our way down...

LordJim Yes, Bill Clinton certainly was a poor example of America's males...

You know you could stay on topic and not try to score cheap-ass liberal political 'points' eh? It is possible...

Define: a lot of men: because I doubt it's that high a %. Rapists tend to be multiple, sometimes in the hundreds.

LordJim the typical feminists argument " just teach boys not to rape" congratulations on your toxic feminism.

Maybe you are right maybe women should be allowed to go to school completely naked if they so choose, saying that would be a distraction to the boys is just patriarchy nonsense.

dm2754 Women can walk the streets topless in Canada: perfectly legal! (Unless it's for work, weird eh?)
However this is NOT advised between Dec - Feb... :-O
Nov - Mar even... ;-)

Toxic feminism = stop raping women.
Toxic masulinity = rape the bitch. Then get your buddies in and high-five.

Yes, I suppose they are morally equal positions.

I don't think we'll reach agreement on this one.

LordJim Blaming one side OR the other 100% for something like rape isn't a good plan. That doesn't mean 'girls cause rape' (which undoubtedly you were about to accuse me of saying) it means that rape prevention isn't 100% up to the boys. And yes, girls also rape too, that's a fact you are omitting: that feminist statement does too.

I think I'll stick with it anyway. The one doing the raping is to blame. 100%.

Girls rape too? Oh, please. Unless you can come up with some reputable numbers to show it's a significant problem when considering rape overall ( not annecdotes ) then it's just chaff - distraction.

LordJim FBI statistics good enough for you?
You forget about lesbian rape: the most under-reported kind of all. Even gay-rape gets reported more :/ And yes, women can and do rape men, usually at knife or gunpoint. It's a fact. I'm not suggesting it's commonplace, but it certainly happens.

Sorry, slogging through the many tables I didn't find it (by gender), but I didn't look at every single one, just 12-19. Apparently a gender breakdown exists somewhere, as does race & age breakdowns...

Here: Slate is as liberal as it gets:
http://www.slate.com/articles/double_x/doublex/2014/04/male_rape_in_america_a_new_study_reveals_that_men_are_sexually_assaulted.html

I found an article about lesbian rape: but it was behind a paywall :/ Looked informative too.

Here's some sort of Wiki page: it's confusing but clearly states women do indeed rape:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Rape_by_gender#Rape_of_Females_by_Females_removed

Define "significant problem"? I'd say ANY rape is a problem, yes?

Yes it was silly of me to make that argument. Good thing you picked me up on it. You are quite right of course, women should be completely covered at all times to avoid distracting poor, helpless men.

He hasn't been fired, he is on administrative leave. On top of that, several students at the school are supporting him. It was a bad "joke" that was inappropriate but warrants at most a slap on the wrist and should not cost him his career.

LordJim The people who fired him have to worry about THEIR jobs.

This guy fucked himself, if those people do not fire him and he does ANYTHING else stupid, then it becomes their fault not firing his dumbass in the first place.

He isn't some 20 year old kid, if he has learned by now how to talk in a professional manner, he should seek a job where he doesn't have to give public addresses to anyone.

Aside from that one bit? (and the part about Adam and Eve... ok 2 bits) He makes perfect sense.

This is the dress code: follow it. Like it or not, that's how it is. :-/

It was a dumb thing to say, but to get fired over it? Massive over-reaction...

Women Feminists DO say shit like this all the time, usually far worse. ("All men are rapists..." springs to mind...)

And yeah, Sodding Daisy High? :-O Oy vey!

I know a lot of feminists, being a libtard and all, and I've never heard that once. I don't doubt that some have said it but I suspect ( I haven't done a study) that their numbers are no more and probably less than the MRA's and Incels proclaiming that all women need to be raped.

However, the idea that all men are potential rapists is sensible one for women to be aware of. You don't need to be a woman to think that; having a daughter will do it.

LordJim I read an editorial in a local paper (many years ago) entitled "Why do men rape?" and yes, it claimed all men were guilty of rape, or enabled rape to happen and thus just as guilty. No exceptions. :-/
Plenty of 'celebrity' feminists (the ones who get published and coverage of their views, not just actors) have claimed that, and said other equally 'broad brush' statements concerning men. Of course individuals are likely to be far more reasonable, it takes "extreme" views to get coverage in the MSM eh?
Sure, all men have the 'potential' to rape... as do all women! Also murder, arson, theft, anything you can think of, humans (male or female) have the potential for it.

LordJim that's because you live in an echo chamber. And believe it or not people say things when you're not around to hear them. Believe it or not the universe does not revolve around you and other people have different experiences.

Give me a break, he should be chastised by the school and made to make a correction statement. After all it was Eve that got them thrown out of Eden.
From the sound of it, he was implying that the girls were the ones wearing the gym shorts in the first place.

And like intelligent thinking adults the school board overreacted and made a stupid decision to fire him.

Dumb joke, but not worth losing your job over.

daegog Yes it is stupid. We agree on that. But everyone at some point will do something stupid. Something even they kick themselves over when it dawns on them.  You've done it, did you get fired for it?  I've done it, and buried it like a cat so I wouldn't be fired over it.

Now, if he has a history of doing stupid shit like this, then he never should have
made it to the position of Principal in the first place. But we don't know that back story
I'm just going on this one incident.

kalron LOL how old are you?   I'm closer to 60 than 50 and I know for certain we all do stupid shit at various times in our lives. Examples
"I did not have sex with that woman" - Clinton
"dick picks" - Too many men in the public eye to list just one here
"Using N Word" again too many examples of judging the crowd wrong LOL

Gerry1of1 As am I, but there is a limit of stupidity that anyone can find acceptable.

They saw this guy make this statement and came to the conclusion: His judgement CANNOT be trusted, fire him now before he becomes a real liability.

I think firing him was a very smart move.

Now this dumb fucker had a few too many, got into a fight and started screaming racist shit.  Now he is proper fucked because you cant do that in the military, even off duty.

But I would be more inclined to give THIS guy a second chance than the vice principal idiot.
