Thieves Storm The Fresno Apple Store & Steal $27K Worth Of Electronics

Submitted by: fancylad 4 months ago in News & Politics

Lt. Rob Beckwith said police are searching for four men who stormed the store around 11:30 a.m. Saturday and took items off the display tables. "They were going through people and just grabbing stuff," Beckwith said Sunday.

Police initially got a report that the incident was an armed robbery, but later determined that the alleged heist was quick and no weapons were used. Beckwith said investigators are describing the alleged robbery as "a large grand theft" due to the product value and that there was significant monetary loss.

It was also unclear what specific items were taken by the men. Beckwith said detectives looking into the case may use surveillance video in the investigation. Source: The Fresno Bee

Unless I'm mistaken, Apple devices, when stolen, can transform into a spider-like robot and attach to the perpetrator's face (like in Alien) and take over their motor functions. They will walk to the nearest law enforcement agent and turn themselves in. The Apple device disengages once the law enforcement agent uses the Apple specific cable to unlock the device, provided both the perpetrator and agent have up-to-date Apple iIncarceration accounts.

dm2754 Is it possible to know someone's ethnic identity based on the clothes they wear? from the footage it seems they were full covered, hoods up with masks on...

dm2754 The guy in blue tracksuit bottoms and a grey hoodie has tanned hands, could be white tanned. the guy opposite him has white hands....

the white woman in the bottom left that starts calling at 19 secs looks like she has tanned skin, she's clearly Caucasian though...

$27,000 worth (for the purposes of their insurance claim).  A whole lot less cost to them.

bravo. thats how you do a heist. small light weight high valued products just sitting on tables where anyone can grab them with no security. just walk in with your face covered, and literally grab as much as you can. the whole video wasnt even 30 seconds, and all with out any use of violence or threats. this was actually kind of beautiful.

robthelurker Not sure on Apple Store policies, but I'm sure they have the admin account password locked, and the location services activated. As soon as any of those connect to the internet by any means, the culprits will be found.

DuckBoy87 They won't have to connect intentionally - just get too close to a hotspot. Apple can activate the camera and mic remotely. And read your keystrokes.

robthelurker well, upon second review, it does look like someone got in their way on their way out, cant tell if the person was trying to stop them or if they just kind of ran into them, but either way they got knocked down.

robthelurker I know what you mean.  I know its a great idea to try to stop crime but in the US, too many lawsuits have happened against people in those situations.

Apple can bear the loss of those overpriced laptops more then i can bear the weight of a massive lawsuit cause i tripped a thief and he fell down and split his skull.

daegog A buddy of mine stopped some guy after he grabbed his wife. The poor guy tripped and fell against a fire hydrant 5-6 times. Police didn't give a fuck.
