Question: Should Trump Have Been Banned From Twitter For This Post?

Submitted by: fancylad 5 months ago in News & Politics

Sounds like a threat to me. Maybe it's a diversionary tactic to take the focus off his boyfriend, Putin.

In response, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif dispatched a "fuck you" tweet this morning:

"COLOR US UNIMPRESSED" and "BE CAUTIOUS!" Anyone who's been in real fight (not an online pissing contest) knows that those words are just code for "Do your worst, bitch -- we eat daddy's boys like you for sport." Trump is saber rattling again, but is he looking for a war? What's Trump's end game with Iran? We know why he got all agro with North Korea and Syria, but Iran?

So the question is: Should Trump be banned from Twitter for threatening Iranians with death and destruction. You'd think so, but Twitter likes to play favorites as Time explains here.

“Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial Tweets would hide important information people should be able to see and debate,” Twitter claims. Unless they're immature tyrants with influence who don't know how to professionally conduct themselves.

So the Iranian Foreign minister is capable of tweeting a well thought out and articulate tweet, in English. But the POTUS cant write and angry tweet without using capslock and being a hypocritical buffoon.

A prime example of "demented words of violence and death"

I have the plug in that changes every Trump Tweet into an 8-year old's scrawl.  It makes Trump's posts that much better.

looks like this

I can't seem to drag and drop an image into a comment.  Or is there a better way to get the image to showup instead of just using links ?

Btw anyone see the "official" White House transcripts and video of the Summit press conference. The question where Putin says he and his operatives rigged the election were edited out. T he problem is it was being broadcast live. Trump is pulling another dictator move by trying to say the broad cast version is fake news and rewrite history

Shouldn't the question be, 'Should Trump be banned?'. Period. Just banned. Persona non grata. Stripped of his citizenship - a man without a country.
Then Putin could put a collar and leash on Trump, and trot him about like the pet dog he is.
Not that I have an opinion one way or another.

captkangaroo       "Indeed, some of the toughest sanctions in years have fallen on Russia’s elite under the Trump administration. Sanctions imposed over Russia’s invasion of Crimea in 2014 have not been lifted, Trump approved the sale of lethal weapons to Ukraine — something Barack Obama did not do — and he has ordered missiles fired at Syrian military sites, openly targeting strategic operations and allies of Russia" (CNBC news)
That is not counting the indictments against the voting medaling, closing his Embassy annexes, sending some 80 of his people packing back to Russia, and additional sanctions against Russia, and if you think that pissing off NATO by telling them they have to spend more money on defence, or Germany to stop giving him money threw there use of his oil,   if that makes him a lap dog, he needs a muzzle or better training.

NATO is another waste of tax dollars - as is military actions in places we shouldn't.
Them thar tough sanctions have apparently not been effective.
Who gives a hoot about Obama - he is not the measure of what we should now be doing, and it's pointless to keep throwing his name into current policy.
What did either of the Bush-monsters do about Syria? Syria has been in turmoil for quite a while now. Oh, I forgot; Bush monster 1 started a useless war over oil, and Bush monster 2 threw a whole region into turmoil over nonexistent WMD's.

casaledana Facts don't matter, only the mantra!!
I mean, Trump is practically promising '...more flexibility...' towards Russia eh? he should be impeached just for saying that!
(Don't forget the missiles in Poland and troops in the Baltic Nations too...)

mentott510 I recall seeing a business group contemplating it once, because it would be less expensive for them long term, because each time he tweeted negatively about them they lost money.

mentott510 Just for the sake of argument, do you think Twitter would sell? They're not public yet, right? And they've never made a profit -- I think it's lost during every quarter, no?

fancylad I really don't know, but the idea of taking his platform (voice) away by organizing a grassroots public fundraiser to buy the business is intriguing.
