A Russian Warship From 1905 Was Discovered By South Korean Divers

Divers off the South Korean island of Ulleungdo have discovered the fabled wreck of the Dmitrii Donskoi. They found an intact name plate so there is zero question this was the Dmitrii Donskoi. It was a Russian war ship that sunk in 1905 during the Russo-Japanese War.

Now finding a ship wreck is cool enough on its own but what they found on this ship wreck is next level cool. As mentioned, the Russian's scuttled this ship but why? Only because it was carrying 5500 boxes of gold, estimated to worth 133 Billion USD! And Russia didn't want Japan to get the gold.

Half of the gold is going back to Russia and a healthy portion is getting donated to various projects. So remember IAB, if you ever have to sink a ship carrying 133 Billion bucks, do your self a favor and make mental note of where you sank it so you can retrieve it later.
