there is that very slight disconnect between sounds and face that you get when doing a video call- most offputting.

Why didn't Dinsey hire these guys to create Tarkin...the Uncanny Valley is far less with this one.

This is going to be used in the most wrong way possible.......Zeus forbid that we actually use it for something good like helping people who can't speak on their own or for really great Alexa type assistants in our home.

If the whispy bit of hair had its own momentum, it would have been better (the hair is locked in position with the head).  Its quite impressive, but as noted previously, the mouth itself is the weak spot.

The eyes were well done.

Not fooling anyone yet.  Too much emphasis on pointless details (like the wisps of hair that a normal person would have been irritated by and swept back) and too little on the shape and animation of the mouth, the proportions and shoulder movements with the arms (shoulders are not a fixed pivot , the whole shoulder structure moves with the arm)

that being said, it is still very impressive.

Imagine the abuse of this as it keeos getting better. The utilisation for conspiracy theories and dirty tricks in politics. And that in itself will just degrade trust in politics and facts. The world is becoming a more 'interesting' place.

jayme21 I would bet that these will be used by political candidates in a few years to put an idealized version of themselves on screen instead of the hideous reality. (see the Kennedy-Nixon debates)

Impressive overall, the movements were pretty realistic. The mouth was just a little off though I thought.

Hmmm. I read Semi's comment and one thing jumped out at me: my own use of the word girl to describe Siren. I'm changing the noun now to woman.

squrlz4ever on that point it raises another issue. As with 'deepfakes' porns. This technology being abused for child imitation. Already law across the world struggles with simulated and photoshopped pictures. Its going to get more relevancy and need better controls on what society finds acceptable and draws the line.

jayme21 Interesting point. The possibilities are really disturbing.

jayme21 Some progressive countries already have laws that don't require photos or video to be kiddie porn, but rather the depiction of children is sufficient.

punko depending on your beliefs on freedom of expression, harm,  psychology and sexuality depends how 'progressive' that actually is.

If sexuality is not a choice which 'progressives' say with homosexuality, polyamoury etc. Is it fair to punish a paedophile/hebophile for something out of their control? Which if no one is hurt in the creation is being done and wouod be against various human ights documents of countries around the world.

Alternatively there some studies that sex dolls photshopped etc nornalises the behaviour so someone could be more likely to offend so would be 'progressive' as youre stopping the nornalisation of it. But then on that vain would you be in favour of depiction of aggressive/violent porn be criminally stopped for same reason?

Like I said society needs to get the answers before it becomes an issue.

jayme21 a good response.  However, as I said, some countries have already advanced in this area, others have ignored it or tried to wrap it in with religious issues.

The main problem here is the voice in no way matches the image, other then that, people are getting great usage out of unreal 4, its lasted a while now.

daegog the face is that of a youngish woman, and the voice is that of a youngish woman. Where do you see a mismatch?

semichisam01 Well i don't think all youngish women sound alike.  When i heard that voice, i immediately thought it didn't belong to that person.
