ToysRUs

Excerpt from the BBC article:

Charles Lazarus began selling toys in 1957 in large supermarket-style shops after he returned from World War II military service.

His death comes after the company announced it would close all US and UK shops and seek bankruptcy protection.

It's been a sad week for us Toys "R" Us kids :(

Bummer....he created such an empire with his company. Will we ever have another toy store like Toys R Us....I think not.

rukittenme Probably not, but maybe...just maybe, this will create a void that allows the rebirth of "mom and pop" toy stores.  The reverse of what we saw with Home Depot and Lowes forcing local hardware stores out of business.

Not a good time for him to die, but he enjoyed more success than anyone here.
