McDonald's Announce They've Decided To Start Using Fresh Beef In Its Quarter Pounder (How Novel)

Submitted by: fancylad 9 months ago in News & Politics

Side question: Will fresh beef prompt you to start eating at Mickey D's now? (At least for their QPs?)

In answer to lordjim I live in a town of 19,000 and there's no place except fast food the few restaurants are barely worth the money and the fast food is about the same to eat. If I want a real meal I have to drive an hour and a half to get a decent meal.
But as far as McDs is concerned I have never liked there food with the exception of the frys, and I don't think this will change my mind.

I've always loved McDonald's and I always will.
They're definitely a hell of a lot better than the In-N-Out crap

I live in a town of 12,000 and our nearest chain" restaurant " is about 20 miles away.  ( apart from Greggs, obviously ). Mcdonalds tried to move in but the town was overwhelmingly against it. People thought it would drive down property prices.  Still plenty of places to eat or get a sandwich.  Why would anyone eat that crap if there is an alternative ?

LordJim well, I wouldnt call McDonalds crap exactly.  They haven’t had any issues like Chipotle had so there’s that.  Also, their breakfast sandwiches are pretty good.

Their burgers are what they are and they are cheap comparatively.  There is a new crop of upscale burger places but paying $15 for burger/fries/coke and having the quality swing wildly (fries lukewarm, burger over/under done) isn’t enticing either.

"Innovation" ?

So McD is going to do what almost every other burger shack does.
Very innovative.

So, is the news is that it's fresh? Or that it's beef?

megrendel Didn't BK do some sort of shenanigans like this before?  Said they only used 100% pure beef, which was true, the company they used exclusively for beef purchases was named "100% pure beef."

doiknowyou just Google "McDonald's Pink Slime."  i think they actually stopped using that stuff, but for a while a certain percentage of their burgers was "Pink Slime" which was basically all the leftover parts of cow after all the good cuts got taken, sprayed with ammonia and then ground up into pink slime.  That's what their burgers were made of.

normalfreak2 the real question is what are they feeding us now that we aren’t onto yet?

On a side note I like the McRib and that thing is the very definition of a mystery meat sandwich.

woodyville06 One of my clients is the creator of that pink Slime.  Needless to say he's exceedingly wealthy.
