Happy 25th Birthday Beavis and Butt-Head

Oh Beavis and Butt-Head, from your early roots of commenting on videos, to starting your own show, to staring in your own movie, to spinning off to the amazing Daria, to inspiring King of the Hill... you have run the gambit of mainstream media and influenced a generation.

You were also the scapegoat for so many problems that were occurring during those years, between you and video games I don't know who was the most vilified by politicians. With video games in the spotlight again with regards to school shootings, I'm surprised you two are not being blamed again for the wayward youth.

I originally avoided Beavis and Butt-Head, blowing it off as nonsense, but I vividly remember watching the episode "The Final Judgement."  The subtle self-reference of mimicking what they saw on TV, subsequently killing Beavis. Butt-Head is then tasked with giving him a proper sendoff.  After that, I got what Mike Judge was doing. Before Seth Macfarlane, before Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Judge was paving the way to use the cartoon medium for social commentary in a raw and humorous way.

Here is a quick compilation to bring back the memories:

I was 12 when this was at its peak popularity. I felt like such a rebel watching it...

Disney should forget Pooh and do a live action movie with B&B

Gerry1of1 I would totally watch that. Especial if Mike Judge did the voiceovers.

Patrick Stewart's coolness doubled when he admitted back in the day that he was a huge Beavis and Butthead fan. It's smart humor presented in the dumbest way.

A Beavis & Butt-head revival would be perfect in 2018.
