Cops Realize Tiger Is Stuffed Animal After A 45-Minute Standoff

Submitted by: trimble 8 months ago in Funny News & Politics

A Scottish farmer frantically called cops to report a tiger in his cow shed, sparking an armed police standoff — only to learn it just was a large, cuddly stuffed animal.

Bruce Grubb, 24, was throwing a housewarming party when he spotted the bizarre sight and called police, fearing his pregnant cows were about to be devoured.

Now “I feel a bit silly for calling the police, but I thought it was a real emergency,” he told the Scottish Sun. “I had absolutely no doubt it was real. I got a hell of a scare.”

That’s ok..shit happens..I have a similar story from a small town hardware store my dad used to work at...The security alarm got triggered somehow and the police were summoned to store. Well..the cops opened fire and shot a cardboard cutout of Elvira mistress of the dark, because it was dark and they thought it was a burglar breaking into the store lol

pinkminx22 See: You think that's a funny story.

It's actually a story about one or more people who would have shot an unarmed person, without provocation...

In defense of the Scottish police, in a dark barn, from a distance? Sure, I could see it being mistaken for a real tiger. They seemed to handle the situation very well, and with some good humor, too.

Had it been Los Angeles, it might've played out thus:

SWAT TEAM CAUSES MAYHEM IN RESPONSE TO REPORT OF LIVE TIGER

Los Angeles - An LAPD SWAT team yesterday leveled a barn and killed 8 cows when they responded to a report of a tiger on the loose. Using fragmentary grenades and a military personnel carrier, the team rushed the barn at approximately 6 PM. The assault ended just a few minutes later after the barn had been destroyed and all livestock inside it had been killed by automatic weapons fire.

When it was discovered that the tiger was actually a plush toy, members of the SWAT team seemed to turn their frustration on the farmer who had called in the report, beating him severely before placing him in handcuffs and taking him in for further questioning.
. . .

Note: That was satire, AKA a joke. No one needs to lose their wig over this. I understand that the police generally do good work and risk their lives on our behalf every day. Just thought I'd put this little disclaimer here to try to head off any misunderstandings.

That's a good one.  The farmer would have been charged with making false reports here in the states.
