Bill O'Reilly Will Probably Lose His Job Because His Sexual Harassment Finally Caught Up With Him

Submitted by: fancylad 6 months ago in News & Politics

We've all learned that most white males in the media can kind of get away with anything as long as there are enough people that still back them and the money continues to roll in, but once their antics start hurting the bottom line, that's when people in charge start debating whether or not the white guy in question is worth keeping around.

Case in point: Bill O'Reilly. His little partisan show, "The O’Reilly Factor," has been chugging along for 17 seasons and Fox has weathered all of his bullshit, from his 5 out-of-court sexual harassment settlements to last week's embarrassment when he deflected and attacked Maxine Waters instead of answering the question that was asked of him (a classic conservative move, apparently).

So with over 20 advertisers pulling their ads from 'The O’Reilly Factor' on Fox (as of writing this), it's just a matter of time before Fox has to make some interesting decisions. We all know Fox's life blood is controversy -- it keeps ratings (and paranoia) up -- but with big advertisers like Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, BMW, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Constant Contact, Bayer, Ainsworth Pet Nutrition, Orkin, UNTUCKit, Allstate, and Esurance gone, O'Reilly is fucking with Fox's money and that's usually where the line is drawn in the corporate world.

Ha. Ha. Ha. Called it? Called it. This dude's a pig, and I'd happily be the one slamming the door in his face. Christian? Get fucking real. Even Jesus would've been rethinking his position on murder if you'd locked them together in a room.

Trumpster had defended him and apparently sees nothing wrong with doing such actions

Nope. He will stay. 1) NONE of those advertisers stopped advertising on Fox. 2) Bill is pretty cool.

I say good riddance. I'm sick of him polluting my parent's minds with misinformation and division.

markust123 There will be another to replace him immediately, there is too much interest and money to be made. Misinformation has become the preferred news for a lot of people i.e. tell me more of what I want to hear. "The truth hurts because the lies were exactly what I wanted to hear" Ulysses S Grant-1997

markust123 he's toxic, he makes people worse for ever having listened. Really what's always bothered me about him the most. Seeing people reading his books. Hearing people reiterating his talking points. Travel abroad, he is what foreigners hate most about Americanism. Loud, rude, in your face, and stupid as all hell.

thething911 Until he got fired I thought Glen Beck was the most toxic person on Fox but Bill is by far more toxic than Beck

If he did the crime? He should pay the price. Politics should have nothing to do with it.

FTFY. See Bill Cosby.

Admittedly, it's much easier to get people to back you and have money roll in if you're white. But once you achieve that level of fame, you're pretty well-protected unless you're a sloppy repeat-offender.

bliznik I completely agree. This is an area where race doesn't mean anything, just money and power.

bliznik I mean with ish like Brock Turner doesn't even have to be media either just affluent people, wonder if it extends to women with money? Some people here would probably say Hillary Clinton...

mischeif954 I was thinking the same thing, but I don't really know of many scandals involving female repeat offenders who get away with stuff. I mean, there's Martha Stewart's child labor and HRC's e-mail server, but that was one big mistake here and another big mistake there. But repeat offenders who are accused over and over and over and over again and are only prosecuted when the accusations hit a critical mass? I've only read about that kind of immunity wielded by men.
