What's the difference between a pistol and a penis?  The child stops crying when a pistol goes off in its mouth.

squrlz4ever There are plenty of things you can do right here in your own community.  Visit the dairy and find out how milk is handled and prepared for delivery, or plan a series of window displays on home safety, or help start a library, you can discuss with your dentist what you can do to make your teeth more attractive!

holygod I think 2 years of service out of high school would do wonders.  Continue your education, drawing a paycheck, seeing the world etc.  I tried for Europe several times but there were never any openings, so I hit Japan/Okinawa/S.Korea/China while I was out there, I'll likely never have that chance again.

bliznik we hardly use high-powered.  They're unnecessary, kick too much and the ammo costs an arm and an ass.

markust123 its common sense... if its not safe to return fire you dont return fire.  You seek cover and help victims, period.

squrlz4ever We train in all forms of aid.  Severe wounds, superficial, hypothermia, overdose.  We try to cover as many 'help' scenarios as possible.
melcervini wrote:
markust123 I'm already Red Cross certified.  We're not training just so WE will be safe, others that aren't so prepared are going to need a LOT of help.

holygod  1.  You honestly think that people wont panic and go apeshit during a natural disaster?  That assaults, rapes and other crimes dont skyrocket during such incidents?

2.  I'm sure they can (when they're not trying to maintain order, see above.)  But we're not the kind of people to sit on our asses and let others do all the work when we're capable, willing, and well-regulated.

3. Considering the great majority of us are prior-military, we've got more than a damn good chance, plus considering the military's disillusionment with the government right now, following orders to shoot at citizens is going to be severely tested.

4. Being prepared for any eventuality isn't a bad thing.

daegog Foreign or domestic.  The likelihood of an invasion from outside isn't nearly as strong a threat as from within and most likely from radical islamists who are already here and getting established/established. (see Mubarak Ali Gilani and his creation of Muslims Of America or Jamaat ul-Fuqra )  THEN you can look for outside forces to join in.  Currently, our BIGGEST concern is Yosemite and what happens when it blows... its going to be a huge mess.
