The west becomes  less and less open while the arab and asian countries are becoming more open. People in the future (maybe just outside Europe) will laugh at  how disgusting we were.

LordJim They lie all the time. They claim there's no difference in fundamentalism between the big religions. In other words, cultural relativists, or in simple words liars.

daegog And who does it apply to? If someone is convinced he's god, do you have to call him god?

You're missing the part about laws not controlling what you can say. You do not have a right to force others to call you whatever you want, it's up to them.

On note: another good test is to check the big 5 personalities (and each of the five have two sub-parts). These often cost a bit though, but the ones that do tend to actually give deep analysis.

daegog I assume you've never read the lyrics of rap songs. Or you're defending ghetto culture, something far more sinister.

I don't even know how you don't know this already.

Edit: of course I do, what's evil are the white men minding their own business, not rap people singing they're going to smash that pussy to pieces. Feminists surely know their priorities.

We have to consider countries other than the west.

Most projections are estimating that a much larger percentage of people will be religious in the future, especially with the crazy growth of Islam (and different from christianity, Islam has only grown more with the introduction of internet and wealth).  Sad, but likely true.

A better title would be; the decline of Christianity in the modern west.

squrlz4ever If being stupid is being two moves ahead. Ever heard of   mass shootings in Europe?
Always fun to see how people learned nothing from the ban on alcohol, the war on drugs and the war on prostitution. Things don't disappear just because you ban them.

I don't care about guns, for r r against, but treating the symptom and not the cause is stupid populism that doesn't solve anything.

They should ban guns completely just so that I can see the "shock" of stupid people when the shootings happen anyway.

marsii It's more like saying that creationism is accepted by much of the right. By the way, only a minority of liberals (democrat voters) are really leftist (one main point is identity politics). The issue is that very few, if any, of the mentioned groups are really reacting to these things.

marsii Not very good with the thinking. No, it means people who are liberal (to be honest as someone who follows liberalism it's really an insult to call any of you liberals, when you're really too left to be actual liberals) should also be banned when they are making threats. Go figure, echocamberguy.

normalfreak2 I agree partly. While he's not really fit for office (both he and Oprah are just overgrown celebs) I still think the movement is overall positive for the west. It has caused a lot of anger (much of it ridiculous) but it has also forced other politicians to stop being so damn complacent and to actually realize that not all voters are middle class progressives (I still call many regressives) in places like NY and California or crazy christian conservatives.

It's especially good for my own country because now people here are actually more able to speak their mind (our government is trying to limit this though, see; https://ledarsidorna.se/2018/02/freedom-of-speech-in-sweden-good-night-and-good-luck/ ).  Just two years ago you would get the sense that everyone here thinks the same, but in the evening at home they would sit with pent anger and disappointment in not being able to say what they actually think. The videos of Tim Pool are a pretty accurate description of the things going on here.

Draculya Really?

on note: why aren't people like Dracuyla and butters being banned? fancylad

It's your site, so either you admit that rules only apply to some people and the aim of the site is really to be a socialliberal echo-camber. If you want it to have open discussions everyone need to be treated the same in regard to the rules.

Fake news have always been a thing (how else would religion and mythology come about?). Even our tax-funded public broadcaster has been caught lying many times. A problem is that people automatically assume the big newspapers are credible by default, when they are just as likely to lie as many alternative sources. You have to look at all articles critically, not just those outside CNN/Fox/BBC/WSJ/NYT etc.

markust123 The first quote is directed at everyone and the second one is directed at the video/article. Yes, I use hard words and usually in the sense of calling people stupid. Especially when people here, who are usually americans, try to lecture me on my own country, and with stats that aren't even valid at that (as if I go here with an holier-than-thou attitude to tell you how everything works in Canada and USA, it's one thing to disagree and try to argue something else, but what happens here is a stonewall of "I KNOW BETTER THAN YOU, HEY I LIVED IN SWEDEN ONCE A DECADE AGO" and completely ignoring everything else).

But you know what? I don't have any obligation to prove to you that I'm not someone else, I only uploaded these because logical thinking doesn't work for some, this is what's called defamation and harassment. The reason Squrlz thought I was 5cats was supposedly because "it was a way for 5cats to talk bad about muslims and sweden" because I'm very strongly against the refugee (afghans, not syrians) and islamist intake in my country and its very negative effects. He also said it's because I frequently use quotation marks. It's just insultingly stupid for everyone, just like trying to convince a flat-earther that the earth is round.

I'm sticking up for 5cats for reasons I've explained, I've been here for more than a decade and all this time I've seen constant ganging up on him, so it's only natural that he becomes more and more aggressive. Yes, he has some calming down to do, but there are already enough people saying this (and many throwing shit, here as well) while what I call the other side, which is a certain group here that always keeps together, will most likely never even slightly admit their cause in this.
Fojos wrote:
fancylad does that include Draculyas harassment of me? I assume not. Because he's part of the correct groupthink, just like my fellow Swedes.
