A lost voice drifts amidst an open sky
Cascading into a starlit horizon
Where powered branches extend over the frozen pond
Leading a trail of ice laden tears

Guide the way
Through the forest that calls to me no longer
Where sighing ravens once descended upon my outstretched arm
And sang of the dawn’s golden warmth

I see the withered petals of the mangled roses
I feel the crisp brown grass under a land of stagnant hail
And I hear the shriek of encircling vultures--
A melody to scattered thoughts

Call my name
And lead me to an escape
Among the snow covered evergreens
In the silence of my last stroll

I only see the silver crescent
Hung upon a falling star in the night
As it glows before my glistening eyes
While the world
gradually
fades
away....
