Perhaps I should have clarified, "anybody here on this forum".

As I have said earlier, I am sure there are probably just as many genuine anti-gun nuts out there as there are gun nuts who think there should be NO restrictions..Are any from either extreme commenting here? I know I haven't suggested we ban all guns.

Thank you for the quotes though. I noticed the quote from Obama was from the 90's....is this still his stance today? In any event he was elected into office, so are you suggesting that most people agree with him?

I admit I had never heard of Diane Feinstein, so I quickly googled her...Do you suppose she said that comment before or after she succeeded the former mayor who was assassinated?

As for brainwashing, I certainly don't agree...that takes a page out of the NRA handbook...although I think it wouldn't hurt if the US changed its way of thinking about guns...and probably more. ;)

[quotes] anybody actually saying that we should ban ALL GUNS?

"If I could have banned them all - 'Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns' - I would have!"
- Diane Feinstein

“I don’t believe people should to be able to own guns.”
- Barack Obama (during conversation with economist and author John Lott Jr. at the University of Chicago Law School in the 1990s)

"We just have to be repetitive about this. It's not enough to have a catchy ad on a Monday and then only do it every Monday. We have to do this every day of the week and just really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way." - Eric Holder

Ya sure you don't.......

So, after changing the definition of "assault rifle", now the US is also changing the definition of "regulated"? What's next, spelling changes of common English words like colour? ;)

Seriously tho, I am we'll aware that the second amendment acknowledges and protects an individual's right to own a firearm. I am also aware that it doesn't specify exactly what types of firearms...is anybody actually saying that we should ban ALL GUNS?

More importantly, I also know that while many governments make similar acknowledgements, there isn't usually as much emphasis on it....Do you really teach your children that one of their most important rights is to own a firearm when they get older? It seems that many adults have a difficult time understanding the context of it all, so why expect a child to?

Drawman, I think you need to bone up on the history and usage of the term 'Well Regulated'. It did not mean 'regulation'. I +meant 'well functioning'.

Funny you pick that part and ignore the part that clearly states " the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Aren't you the one that goes on about how the government here is a big conspiracy out to get us yet you want us to disarm too.....riggght.

And once again anti gunners resort to penis jokes because they have no actual good arguments. Tell me would the female gun owners need viagra too......

Drawman: it basically says because there is a "well regulated militia", the people have the right to bear arms to prevent a tyrannical government. That's the gist of the 2nd amendment. How much it matters anymore, I don't know. The population has no chance against the military, but at the same time I don't see how we can translate that to mean disarm or make it extremely difficult to purchase a firearm.

drawman: You didn't need to post the same pic twice, honestly.

Btw the "well regulated" part applies to the "militia" part not the "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" part.

Please note the "shall not be infringed", funny how you anti-gunners leave that part out.

One of the last questions asked at any shooting spree. "anyone here have a gun?"

I for one think that if he was given the option to leave, but refused and later died, then yes, he quite likely would be alive today if he just left. Did he know about the other shooting?

Truthfully, we don't know for sure. What we do know is that statistically speaking, a civilian trying to intervene in a situation such as this rarely turns out well....

"You know that for a 100% fact? Your crystal ball told you they had no intention of shooting people after coming from shooting people."

Well if they wanted to shoot people it seems they would have just shot people instead of firing INTO THE AIR and telling everyone to LEAVE.

He didn't stop them from doing anything they were going to do.

"He did NOT die for 'nothing' he stopped a spree IN A WALMART, or did you miss that part of the story? He intercepted Nut #1 and kept many many many people from being slaughtered like sheep "

What am I missing?

"fired a round in the air and ordered everyone to leave"

They weren't shooting people at walmart. They just told everyone to leave. Yes they did just kill two people at another location but he had absolutely no way of knowing that.

He died for nothing. He didn't protect anyone. They weren't shooting or threatening anyone at the time, at least not according to what I've read. Had he left everything would have ended the exact same except he would be alive.

Torq: there are probably only as many "anti-gun" nuts out there as there are nut jobs that think they SHOULD be allowed to own a bazooka, tank or whatever they want.

The issue is about gun control, not absolute bans on all guns. It's about the issue of carrying (should it be allowed, and if so, concealed or open?). It's about the issue of a "well regulated militia" vs. "private militia". Personally, I would really like to see better training, testing (incl. Psych. Eval.) and licensing across the board.

As for the more pro side, quite frankly I look at them as sheep as well as ignorant hypocrites. Sheep for the big business, politic influencing NRA machine...that later complain about the corrupt system only when it doesn't go their way.

* setting off a panic. It was at that point, instead of running, Wilcox approached Jerad Miller from behind.

Sorry.. that by definition is a hero.

@HG I was kidding about the getting out because those things ARE prevalent... and I'm not disputing that the training is 100% equal...I WILL offer that some is superior.. have you seen the 'trained professionals' the police academy are churning out lately? You're better off with the rednecks in SO many instances. Now on to the last... yes.. he could have just left, but apparently he wasn't that kind of man. He did NOT die for 'nothing' he stopped a spree IN A WALMART, or did you miss that part of the story? He intercepted Nut #1 and kept many many many people from being slaughtered like sheep before Nut#2 shot him in the back.

"If I have my gun and someone walks into walmart and starts shooting or threatening people I'd act."
"After executing two Las Vegas police officers at CiCi’s Pizza, Jerad Miller *****entered a nearby Wal-Mart, at Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, fired a round in the air and ordered everyone to leave, sett

"you don't get out much do ya"

Huh? I never said the places don't exist. I said your average gun nut is not adequately trained to the level of police or military. You really debating that with me?

"Case in point"

Funny. He was my case in point too in my reply to Torq. He died for no reason. They told everyone to leave. He could have just left. They weren't threatening anyone at that point. "Heroes" get killed more often than they help.

That guy died for nothing. If I have my gun and someone walks into walmart and starts shooting or threatening people I'd act. If they walk in and just tell everyone to leave, then I'm leaving.

The day a nutter stops taking his meds, gets a legally owned gun, manages to evade all the security at a US airport, hops onto a plane, then also successfully smuggles a gun in through a UK airport, and then goes on a killing rampage in one of our universities....that's the day I start giving more of a poo what the law says about gun ownership in a country I don't live in.

@HG you don't get out much do ya? lol seriously! there are TONS of tactical ranges alllll over the place both indoor/outdoor with highly skilled instructors on site at all times and its a complete blast and a load of fun(see what i did there? :D ) but you're honing your skills at the same time so that you CAN contribute rather than sit back and let the wolves descend... putting yourself in danger and be that barrier to those that choose not to carry, which is FINE. Case in point: Yet NO WHERE is this on the mainstream media (or buried 20 pages in)
