Okay, grow up. Obamadrat is an ass. Thank God for the two term rule. I should be surprised that our citizens voted for his sorry ass twice, but, hey, we voted for Bush Jr. twice.

Andrew - I was bored, and just messing with ya, but seriously...a little friendly advice.
You are taking things too seriously. Don't nitpick the little details.

It doesn't matter that he compared Stewart to The Onion instead of Limbaugh? His point was clear...It's not REAL journalism.

You have a way of talking down to people. Educating is not the same as telling someone they are stupid and wrong, although not as fun sometimes. Responding with "I am educated to the masters level..." is a perfect example.

I know you are probably pissed off at me by now. I guess I'm nitpicking too.

We do need more smart, educated people commenting here, like you. Just don't take things so seriously.

piratefish, what's the real shame is that you actually seem to believe all of that.

Really? Knoxville is still reeling from the loss of a civil war? That ended about 150 years ago. You think they'd be over it by now.

People are still vastly ignorant of the ACA. It is not improving health care, nor has it made it more affordable (in fact, it's increased the costs). All the ACA has done is make coverage mandatory and subsidized premiums for the poorest. Still, with ridiculous deductibles and limited coverage, even those receiving subsidies will still be screwed.

All the ACA has accomplished is creating a situation that drives up costs and creates higher unemployment. Not to mention saddling people with new expenses.

Let's talk about this again in three years, by then, even the densest of people will have seen the consequences (assuming they don't get duped into thinking the ACA didn't cause the issues we'll be facing by then).

Stewart hosts a fake news show, which is not to be confused with a false news show. He deals in facts that happen to be funny because they're true. Limbaugh on the other hand appeals to the worst in human nature, fear, hate, and shock value to drum up an audience, modus operandi "Someone else is saying the terrible terrible things you think."

Holding Jon up to the same standards as Edward R. Murrow is ridiculous because he's not a journalist. He's never claimed to be, Murrow had a duty to the public that Stewart just can't duplicate. And Murrow never had gratuitous dick jokes on his broadcasts either...

Stewart should rightfully be compared to Mark Twain, not Walter Cronkite.

Sorry, checked again.
Please read 2.8% health care deduction and 8% pension plan.
(First numbers were divided by net pay instead by brute pay.
Sorry for stupid me)

Turdburglar, I am educated to the Master's level in Economics, public policy, and Russian studies. Those are my strengths. Pretty much everyone types as much as I do, including 100% of the people here so far.

Don't be weird.

See, this is why your name "I like logic" is a joke. You just compared him to the Onion. Yet your crew watches the Daily Show and digests it like real news. Evidence: this post. It's meant to convert people and pass this off as a real representation of the world. Journalists of your point of view even cite the Daily Show without double checking with the person interviewed.

Jon Stewart desperately wants to be a Vox Populi, but when people actually question his team's tactics, he hides being a "comedian" - even though his entire show is political commentary and activism. This is why Rush Limbaugh also hides behind being an "entertainer". It's the same thing!

So no, you most definitely don't like logic if you compare Jon Stewart to the Onion. You would be logical if you compared Jon Stewart to Rush Limbaugh.

Andrew155, of course! It's a comedy show.

I realize that you are just so damn smart and educated in every subject...and your doing IAB the favor of writing a small novel in the comments section everyday to try and prove it, but...(I mean this in the kindest way possible)

NO S#IT SHERLOCK! It's a comedy show.

Hey, did you know the zombies on AMC's "The Walking Dead" are actually actors wearing makeup!

Now, I'm definitely not implying that you are an idiot by telling you something so fricken obvious, as if you had no idea.

I'm actually implying that I am so smart and educated in every subject, by typing this long comment here at IAB.

End of Chapter 1: Just messing with you andrew. I Am Bored.

Thanks for the info.
Up to now, i always thought that the dailyshow and the onion were real and fox was a joke.
By the way, Luxemburg was only 16th on that fake chart.
So probably, i'm worse off than you in the US.
So let's try with some facts.
Visit at a normal local doctor, 15 minutes waiting time:
30.60 Euro
Blood and urine analysis (5 pages of results, 83 results):
free except taking of the samples: 4 Euro
Another visit: 30,60 Euro
Prescription of Vitamin D, 8 ampoules of D-Cure Cholecalciferol 25000 UI from SMB, Belgium bought at the local pharmacy:
2 Euro (which is 20% of the cost, our public health care system pays the remaining 80%).

So, in addition to the monthly 3,6% contribution from my pay check (automatic, like the taxes and the 10,4% for pension) to the public health care system,
i had to pay 67.2 Euro for 2 visits, blood and urine analysis and some vitamin D.
Could anyone having done some

Did you know that Jon Stewart interviews are fake? They sit the guys down for 4 hours, asking them a lot of questions so they have enough material fora clever 60 seconds.

And so they paste answers from entirely different questions to other questions. They also ask questions that are intentional bait in order to get a controversial answer, but then they will edit out that they asked that question.

I just want you Daily Show watchers out there to know, and I used to be one, that you are literally watching the equivalent of Rush Limbaugh. The difference might be that Rush Limbaugh doesn't make a living by massively distorting interviews. And you guys just eat up those interviews, it's amazing. Journalists even cite those interviews, even though they're fake. It's amazing that you've never entertained the notion that it's phony.

onoffonoffon, the system has been what it's been for decades. The ONLY change now is that there are plans in place with subsidies such that *everyone* can have care. The ACA, while certainly not the perfect solution (universal health care would be that), is far better than having 45+ million citizens with no healthcare.

You're paying no more in taxes now than you did five years ago. The ACA didn't raise your taxes. Matter of fact, as a percentage, you're paying far less now than in the year 2000. So, please, the idea that you're paying for someone's care is as laughable as they're paying for you road maintenance or your access to clean water or your business infrastructure or your police force or your military protection...

He did say "If you can afford it." The problem is that I can afford it and I'm having to also pay for someone else to afford it now too. The real problem is not that it's unregulated. The actual cause of the problem is that insurance is the most common way to pay for it. If the system was cash based the price would more accurately follow the cost. Just like cars, or houses, the price is what the market will bear. A market where everything is financed will run amok with speculation.
