@BoredFrank, oh, I'm slightly sad about that... I'd have figured there would have been some excellent company and one hell of a party down there! (yes, pun intended)

The getting bit was amusing in context, but teh refusing medical attention is the world class stupid part.

I'm pretty sure the crocodile would have been happy to accept medical attention if there was a vial of anti-sting-ray-barb-through-the-heart he could take.

He went out in the middle oh nowhere with no anti venom at all pretty similar. I myself would have a bag full of every variety before picking deadly snakes up.

Yes; he was a nutter, but he wasn't as crazy as a religious person.

He had it coming too. He took unnecessary risks. he knew it was stupid. At least people now know not to f ck with big stingrays."

Mark 16:15 - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen

So remember believers, according to Christ if you get bit by a snake and die, then you suffer damnation. I'm still waiting for my healing touch to work..

In his dying moments, snake fetish pastor no doubt believed his God was either rewarding him or testing his faith.

I can only hope his congregation will question their own faith. But they won't. They'll twist this into a belief strengthening experience.

You can laugh, but a great many people make important decisions every day based on what any non-brainwashed person could tell you was a bull-sh t religion.

Those religious nuts will still mess with snakes.

Man picks up snakes and f.ucks with them to prove they won't bite him or the bites won't hurt, gets bit, refuses medical attention that would esily save his life. That is NOT misfortune. That is stupidity. That is darwin award cover boy.

Religion aside, we're making fun of his stupidity. Your jumping in on his defense because he is a brother in Jesus. If it was just some moron dying from being a moron, you'd have no problem with it

Could this be considered a sin BTW seems tempting fate for no reason might fall into one of those things.

The snake, when interviewed, stated 'What about me? I'm the one who will NEVER get the taste of stupid hillbilly out of my mouth.'

Andrew: It's not misfortune unless you couldn't possibly prevent it e.i. "bad luck". This was more blind faith/stupidity. He didn't get treatment because he refused it thinking he'd be ok...

"Circle jerk at the dead man's misfortune!"

Man goes hiking, gets bit by snake, can't make it to the hospital in time. THAT is misfortune.

A dead man's willful choice, Andrew, not his misfortune.

this is desperately sad in a way. These people are so bloody deluded they will DIE for their delusion. It is tragic- I assumed they are raised to believe this and educated in it.. I am all for religious freedom but it should not be life threatening. If people have this kind of lethal belief they should be prevented to sharing it with their children until those children are adults. Of course- in that case no one WOULD believe this stuff
