I'm saving 10k a year because they can no longer charge me extra for a pre-existing condition.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is employer-supplied insurance. According to healthcare.gov, this small-business owner can purchase a PLATINUM plan for himself and his 5 employees for $2,766 a month that would give them all ZERO deductible, $5 office co-pays, $8 prescriptions, and $1500 MAX out of pocket per family ($750 for singles).

"And you accuse ME of making baseless accusations?"

How else do you POSSIBLY explain him telling his staff "This is the best option we could find" when it took me 5 f.ucking minutes to find a gold plan that was HALF AS MUCH?

The owner of the company is against Obama and staged this for the news obviously.

And you accuse ME of making baseless accusations?

"No single Republican voted for the ACA. They opposed it at every turn. Many of them had very good ideas for reforming healthcare which would have actually worked to make it cheaper and improve cover but were not even considered."

Like their idea to treat health coverage like income and collect income tax on it? Oh, and people with pre-existing conditions who let their coverage lapse a day are SOL to get new coverage? Or letting people opt out of healthcare coverage altogether so we can all pay for when they go to the emergency room and bail on the bills? GREAT ideas /sarcasm

"I would advise anyone not to try to argue with HolyGod. He is immune to facts."

Perhaps you could legitimately dispute what I have said if you feel it is incorrect. Making baseless accusations is a sign of weakness.

I stated a fact, if you disagree then prove me wrong.

@ Randomxnp: "You are simply lying through your teeth."

That's highly inflammatory language, Randomxnp, and it's out of place here. Please take it down a notch (or two or three).

I would tell my employees, "If you voted for Obama, you're getting exactly what you deserve. If, on the other hand, you voted for Romney, you're getting exactly what the idiot Obama voters deserve."

Also, I would advise anyone not to try to argue with HolyGod. He is immune to facts.

"You are simply lying through your teeth. You are an arrogant, stupid man if you think that from a distance you can second guess a professional insurance broker who has done hours of research and you have simply accepted the lies of the Democrat Party"

Lying about what? Look it up. It is black and white. You don't need to be an insurance broker. It isn't hard. Go check yourself. The owner of the company is against Obama and staged this for the news obviously.

@smag actually my insurance company sent me a detailed list of why my plan was no longer acceptable...among the details were things that did not apply to me in any way...if you think me and millions of others that got those letters are making this up you are sadly mistaken.

@Holy just checked healthcare.gov. $498 per month with a 6K deductible. That is the closest one to what I had before. My old deductible was $3500 and I reached it every year.

IPSIBilly, how do you know your insurance plan was "cancelled due to Obamacare"? Because that's what the company told you? And then they proceeded to charge you more? And you're blaming Obamacare?

"My insurance plan that was cancelled due to obamacare was costing me $435 a month. The new plan is $540 a month and the deductible is $2500 more per year."

Have you checked the exchanges for a better plan? Is be shocked if $540 is the best price you can get. What state are you in?

"They've obstructed. They've undermined. They've defunded, fillibustered, opposed and stonewalled more than any Congress IN THE HISTORY OF THE NATION, accomplishing less than any congress."

That is because everything Obama has suggested has been utterly insane. The man is an idiot. That is obvious to anyone who doesn't just accept what his cheerleaders in the corrupt, socialist news media say.

He smoked pot and snorted coke, by his own admission, yet has cracked down on drug enforcement. He was the original birther, lying on his biographical details for his publisher. He accomplished literally nothing in any job before he became POTUS, did not even publish in a law review he edited. He used a false name and SS number, although we are not sure why because no news organisations or law enforcement will investigate. He has made enough gaffs to make Bush look smooth. He is a dratwit.

It is batpoo crazy to say they have any blame at all. You guys are fruitloops.

It is especially insane to blame Romney, who was governor of an otherwise blue state. Governors don't put forward legislation any more than Presidents.

HolyGod

You are simply lying through your teeth. You are an arrogant, stupid man if you think that from a distance you can second guess a professional insurance broker who has done hours of research and you have simply accepted the lies of the Democrat Party. Lies from before the ACA was implemented, even they don't pretend it is cheaper now since in some states men have seen about 100% increase.

lauriloo, I've tried and tried and tried to show them how Republicans were involved, actively, in not only having a chance to craft the ACA, but have actively undermined it at every turn. They refuse to look at bald proof. Good links, though. Maybe they'll listen to you? It sure hasn't worked for me.

"The story was about an existing plan (not healtcare.gov) that had to be changed to meet the requirments of ACA."

The story was about how all their insurance was going up under obamacare. The guy says they found the best plans they could. In reality, their insurance prices go down under obamacare, if they choose properly.

HolyGod- ignore my fact checking

You're 'fact checking' was just to see what a 'comparable' plan via healthcare.gov costs.

The story was about an existing plan (not healtcare.gov) that had to be changed to meet the requirments of ACA.

Conservatives were NOT locked out.

@Smagboy1: Some Facts:
>Not 1 Republican was involved in writing the ACA.
>When asked why? Obama answered We won."
>The committee which was supposed to oversee it's writing made 7 suggestions for content. All were ignored.
>Plenty of Insurance Company people were involved though! At least we think so, it's a secret as to who wrote what, eh?

The historical revisionism you regularly cough up is disgusting...

Yes, it was, AJ. Conservatives were NOT locked out. At all. They chose, before Obama even took office, and this is not only documented, but recorded, to look bipartisan yet to oppose EVERY SINGLE THING he suggested. This isn't even new news. They've obstructed. They've undermined. They've defunded, fillibustered, opposed and stonewalled more than any Congress IN THE HISTORY OF THE NATION, accomplishing less than any congress. Ever. All because Obama, a Democrat, was elected. And don't think the public is so stupid as to not see it.
