What adults who do these anti-bullying campaigns don't seem to grasp is that bullying is never physical anymore. Ever. Somebody might give a shove in the hallway, at most.
At the same time, this cyber bullying thing isn't about someone sending messages over and over again. If someone gets a hate-message in their inbox, they can delete it.
Bullying is about exclusion through rumors and gossip. Someone will say that Sally had sex with nasty Billy even if she didn't. Sally's friends will support her, but she'll get looks down the hallway and people will stop talking to her.
And none of this is the over-dramatic nonsense that they portray on TV or in ads like this. It's all very subtle. If anyone acted like the bullies here, they'd be called an non-nice individual.

This wasn't really an ad against bullies/bullying but a trailer to anounce a show about bullies at school that was aired on the 29th oct on France 5 channel.

richanddead: I think you make good points. I'm constantly hearing about anti-bullying programs and pink shirt days and bully-reporting lines and even gay-straight alliance clubs, all aimed at making life easier for the victims. And somehow, I don't doubt for a minute that the little bastards who sit quiet for the messages and take part in the exercises turn around and start tripping kids in the halls the moment the adults leave.

Yea it's not acceptable for kids to bully other kids, I don't know of any school that allows it. Yet that doesn't mean that kids give a poo once an adult isn't looking. Going after parents who never knew their kid bullied is pointless. Bullies come from good houses and bad houses. Whole classrooms can become bullies toward one odd ball kid. Kids lie, cheat, bully, fight, and do all sorts of other bad things. And its not just humans bullying, it crosses to tons of other species. You can't legislate out natural behavior.

I'm not sure what the hell you're talking about. It's pretty obvious what the message is here. Those people would be fired, and jailed for that. But what happens to bullies? Nothing, they usually get away with it because of how we handle these kinds of things. It's time we start making Bullies actually have repercussions for the things they do.
It's not acceptable, and it's fine if you want to make a joke, but understand that there is an issue and it's a fairly serious one.

Why so much hate on the French. Our two nation's histories required one another to actually survive up to this point of time. Without one there is no other!

Yeah, but "kids will be kids". And as long as we keep accepting this, the little poos will just keep on doing it!

uunxx I think the idea might be that the parents of bullies who may be oblivious or trivialize their kid's actions will see this and discipline their kids. Showing how this would be unacceptable in a setting they're familiar with. Alternatively, bully kids might see this and have an epiphany and realize their behavior doesn't really exist in the world except in those few short years of school. Maybe their are others but these occurred to me immediately, I wouldn't say it was ineffective and wasteful...

How is this supposed to help anyone bullied? Is it going to stop the bullies bullying? Who's supposed to be target audience of this ad? Schoolkids? Adults? How it's going to change anything? I guess it's just laughing stock for actual bullies. More like pro-pointless-public-spending than anti-anything ad.
