Another thing that would be nice is an exact phrase search syntax for "and I really f***ing mean THIS string EXACTLY!"

Google already does that if you put a + sign in front of the word or string you MUST have in the results. Combined with putting exact strings of words in " marks it works just fine.

so instead of searching for:

This must be in order

it becomes

+"This must be in order"

There are loads of other operator symbols you can use to affect the search results in other ways too.

No offense dude, but that's not exactly scientific evidence.

@LordJim I don't see everything around me as being in opposition to my viewpoint, but then, I don't live in a socialist $#!+hole, either.

uhhhhh they don't censor based on any political idealogy, and they don't cling to any bias in search requests. I am personal friends with a lot of developer's code writers that work for Google and that's one thing they are very adamant about.

Not only do they censor their search results, they lie about it, and you believe it.

I quit using Google for any searches having to do with politics after I did a search for John Lott's book, More Guns, Less Crime. I entered "More Guns, Less Crime" in quotes with proper capitalization and even included the comma. It wasn't until the 4th page of search results that I got a hit with that exact phrase. It shows up now, but in the first few weeks after it's publication, it was like it didn't exist.

Maybe they've changed in the past few years, but I still don't trust them.

Old Ollie,

When literally every aspect of life you see around you is in opposition to your viewpoint then you are either an inspired visionary or something else.

The odds are not in favour of inspired vsionary.

"I'd just like an HONEST search engine. Google, Yahoo!, and Bing are all run by leftists who censor their search results according to their political biases."

Everything you disagree with has a liberal bias.

Google search is personalized for you. That means you should see results that conform to your own perspective (which is really a terrible way to learn about the world).

Google is out to turn you Liberal Ollie! Honest question: How do you function without frothing at the mouth rambling incoherently at every person you meet?

I'd just like an HONEST search engine. Google, Yahoo!, and Bing are all run by leftists who censor their search results according to their political biases. Trying to find a pro-conservative or pro-libertarian article is like walking into Mordor. I have sometimes had to go to the 5th page of results to find the very 1st exact match for a 5- or 6-word phrase.

Another thing that would be nice is an exact phrase search syntax for "and I really f***ing mean THIS string EXACTLY!"

Sometimes I need a definition of an acronym. You would think that searching for "(SEM)" would bring up pages with SEM in parentheses, which would be how it would appear with its definition, "scanning electron microscopy (SEM)." However, the arrogant pricks at Google think they know better than I do what I'm searching for, so they strip out the parentheses and give me 20 pages with "SEM" but nothing with "(SEM)."

I hate Google, but they'r

Regarding the Sstrange Ttitles as of late:

I suspect the moderator is changing the title to capitalize the first letter in each word, but forgetting to remove the lower-case letter. Not sure if that's a program doing it automatically, or if an unpaid intern is all they could afford...

Doesn't help that the site design itself looks like something from 1998.
