More "Man made" global warming type junk science surfacing again? I wonder freedoms they will try to take using this theory??? Anyone remember station wagons, 2 cycle motors, working toilets and light bulbs that actually give adequate quality light?

Meh, a good response by Michael Eisen (who created PLoS One) about how this is not unique to open access journals. Science and Nature also have a fairly high rate of retractions, as they are motivated by "sexy" papers that attract subscriptions. Open access doesn't have that ability, so their focus is more on number of subs. It also didn't submit this article to *any* subscription journals as a control, so there isn't really anything one can say about this other than that peer review needs to itself be reviewed.

Someone could make big money with this.

They already are. AGW is a multi $BILLION scam, and a lot of hucksters are getting insanely wealthy, e.g., Al Gore.

Now, if NatGeo would only shine a spotlight on all the shoddy journals publishing bogus global warning studies.

I can still claim semen prevents breast cancer though, right?
