I care about women being fat...its unhealthy and in modern society with all the medical advances we have, I think its a bit redundant to be fat. Excessive, unnecessary if you will. Plus, some people are so fat its offensive. Ive been to the US once in my life (as a sentient human) and I saw people of unspeakable weight and it made me physically repulsed. I wouldnt wish that on anyone - but eesh, theres a point where you have to step back (to fit your image into the mirror) and say 'enoughs enough'. Thats well before the point where you use mobility scooters to get around (they're for people who are disabled you numbskulls, not for your lazy ass). Ill add, thats one of the worst things ive seen. People so fat they cant walk. GO ON A BLOODY DIET.

I've noticed this watching Turner Classic Movies - there definitely was a more petite/slender beauty standard back then. And I'm not just talking about the figure - if you look at the faces of the starlets they were largely thin-lipped and definitely had wider eyes/more pronounced noses. One notable exception would be Lana turner - I think she is the starlet from the era which most closely resembles a modern standard of beauty. If you think about it they were actually less objectified back then - breast implants weren't around so a model/actresses IT factor wasn't always about her boobs. Sometimes I'm amazed by what they placed on a pedestal back then actually.

Oh dear god the marilyn monroe thing again - face it ladies, she was not a today's size 14. She was more of a today's size 6 to 8. Deal with it.

My golf shoes are made in Europe somewhere - they are a size 40 something. Her dress was probably from Paris or some sh*t.

@slutt etta:a dress that is a size 14 today would have been a size 20 in monroe's day; Monroe would be a size 8 in today's sizes. Now that is food for thought.

the only people who care about women being fat, are other women. its not mens fault, its not societies fault, its the females fault and theirs alone.

That looks a lot like Janet Gaynor.

slut etta, that's actually true in some sorts. She was actually a size 4 in today american standards. Just saying. She could also squeeze into a size 2.

In the 30's you had popular actresses like Myrna Loy and Far Wray, who were much prettier than the ordinary face they used here.

when marilyn monroe sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. PRESIDENT in that nude colored spangly dress, she was approximately a size 14. today she would be considered fat.... makes you think, huh?

Strangely enough, the face they use to illustrate it isn't especially attractive. Looks familiar though.
