Yeah, Michelle Obama is an annoying mean person. What the drat is there a first "lady" anyway? BTW Michelle Obama most likely has a serious endocrine imbalance. That would explain her disproportionate body. While I'm at it, Hilary Clinton had somewhat of the same thing. Menopause is no excuse here... Any thoughts? I probably won't care.

This customer was actually banned from any further contact with this company. I have been in customer service for 15 years. I will say that you do actually get more be being nice than acting this way. He was probably put into the loop he was in because of his attitude. The company I work for now allows us to disconnect calls if you are disrespectful and if you throw a threat like this guy did we will report you to the police. We have had a couple of people actually arrested. There is a law in most states covering telephone harassment that includes profane language and threats of physical violence. Most people don't realize that when you act the way this person acted you are actually breaking the law. Another thing people don't realize is that when you ask for a manager the majority of the time you are getting one of my co-workers...

So much respect to that call center dude for keeping it cool. I understand that rage and have deep hatred of robots on phones.

I would be less sympathetic if I hadn't gone through the exact same thing. My cell phone service wasn't working and I was transferred around for three and a half hours. They would say, "please hold while I look into that" then the phone would hang up. Or they'd say, "hang on while I transfer you to tech department" and then I'd be transferred out to the main menu. It was a nightmare and by the end of it, I felt like the guy in the video. Granted, I kept my cool, but I just wanted to start yelling and smashing things. It was the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced.

Did you ever notice how these types of conversations are sometimes reduced to primal sounds?

CUSTOMER: "Roar. Raahhrrr."
REP: "Meow. Purrr."
CUSTOMER: "RAAAHHRR. R-O-O-A-A-R!"
REP: "Purrrr. Mew. Mewww."
CUSTOMER: "RHARRR! RHARRRRRRRRRRR!
REP: "Mew, mew, mew. Meow. Purrrr."
CUSTOMER: "RAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
REP: (Silence) ..... "Mew?"

Machine gun massacre threats? Classy.

I would have gotten his number, called him back at 4am and left a voicemail for him to call Michelle back on extension 3775.

Te problem with phone mazes is that the option I want is never listed. A live person can't be all that expensive! Definitely outweighed by the positive impression on the customer.

Side note, I don't like robots on the phone & I don't like them at the store. I DO NOT EVER use those self-serve checkout lanes. Having a real cashier keeps a person employed.

This is hilarious. I worked at a US Cellular call center for a while and these calls happen more than you think. Honestly, I wouldn't have put up with that for more than a minute before hanging up.

I think the guy that invented phone mazes should be hung up by his testicles and beaten to death with phone cords.

Phone mazes are THE absolute worst way to handle customer service, then on top of that they add advertising in between the levels of the maze.

After several wasted minutes, you might get a human being.. in India.. speaking broken English..

After several more wasted minutes, you'll get put on hold, for an indeterminate amount of time, for tier two support.

After being told for the 3rd time to reset your device and all the other procedures you tried before you even called, you might, just might get to tier three and someone that can actually knows what is going on and tell you something like, "We've been working on the server nodes and your area might be experiencing service outages". Asking how long they may last, gets you nowhere. Asking why they haven't told tier one service about the outages, gets you nowhere.

I was once this person. I don't know what happened but now I'm a much nicer person calling call centers. Flirting with the ladies and joking with the guys. I don't even get mad at the scam calls that I have got lately, I just try to get them to say that they are a scam, like, really, my computer isn't updating correctly.

UGH...I really don't miss working in a call center. I worked for the warranty exchange for Cingular (now AT&T) I got at least 6 calls a day with people like him.

When AT&T was owned by Bellsouth (before they were purchased by Cingular and then repurchased by AT&T...confusing I know) there was the 3x warning system. You could warn a customer, "I do not appreciate that language. If you continue to use it I will disconnect the call." Say it three times and if they continued to be dicks you could hang up. Then Cingular came into the picture and you couldn't hang up no matter how nasty the customer got. Ridiculous! I learned to cover up my accent too working for Cingular. Either they mocked me because I was Southern or they flirted...which was just creepy.

Soon as he said the machine gun comment, the cops shoulda been called.

Harsh, but in this day and age, you can't take chances with poo like that.
