Well, it looks like Obama just chickened out on his threats. When he found himself out there all by himself, there was no way he was going to start anything that he couldn't blame on someone else if it all turned to $#!+. Now he's going to wait for congress to act. If they say no, he can say, I didn't chicken out; congress did! If they say yes, and it turns out badly in any of a number of ways, he can blame congress. But if on the off chance congress gives the okay, and it turns out well (I have no idea how; just humor me), you can bet he'll take all the credit for making a courageous decision.

If you really want to know what's going on here, just Google "Limbaugh Theorem."

@Neoptolemos who said, "This joke is waaaay too European for IAB."

Contrary to popular stereotypes, some Americans like to be exposed to stuff like this. While I didn't recognize every name on the list, I got the gist of it and enjoyed it.

The fact is, Halliburton is the only company with the capabilities, equipment, and personnel with Top-secret security clearances to do this kind of work.

Clinton (D) Used Halliburton a lot.
MSM = Silent.

Bush (R) Used Halliburton a lot.
MSM = OUTRAGE! ELEVENTY!!1!!

Obama (D) Uses Halliburton a lot.
MSM = Silence.

Gosh! It's almost as it the MSM were... biased or something? NAW! Can't be!

Airstrikes = The SAME
Drones = The SAME
Invading Nations = The SAME

Any IAB Liberal Brigadiers care to explain these FOUR amazing coincidences?

I'd add: Targeted Assassinations and Rendition but I cannot recall Clinton doing those... even though he probably did. After all? That's what a PotUS is supposed to do! Sort of...

IAB is but one forum of what I would imagine is thousands. The opinions expressed are widespread across many nations.
Perhaps the US government ought to pay attention to 'democracy', and listen to the people who put them there in the first place.
Maybe I have got it wrong, and this is the 'democracy' that certain nations object to having imposed on them.

The fact is, Halliburton is the only company with the capabilities, equipment, and personnel with Top-secret security clearances to do this kind of work. The only way they can afford to maintain these capabilities, equipment, and personnel to be ready to go into a war zone on a moment's notice is to have a guaranteed cost-plus contract in place.

It's funny that when they work for a Democrat, it's all fine and good, but when they work for a Republican, they're the most evil f***ing bastards since the Gestapo if not the Spanish Inquisition.

So how's Obama's coalition coming along?
UK: No.
NATO: No.
UN: No.
Congress: ??
American People: HELL NO!
France: Go ahead, we'll hold your coat.

Halliburton - YES

Halliburton wins.

Cameron didn't sound that upset when Parliament voted not to join Obama's war.

France: Go ahead, we'll hold your coat.

The fact is, the ONLY reason we're getting involved in Syria is so Obama can save face after making ill-advised empty threats about Syria crossing a "red line."

Well, Barry Boy, they crossed it. What now, bitch? Are you going lob a couple hundred cruise missiles at them at $1.5 million a pop just so you don't come off looking like a big pussy? What if Iran attacks Israel? Bad example...I don't think you'd have a problem with that. But what if the Russians threaten to fire on us if we attack their ally Syria? Are you going to engage a Russian carrier group to keep from being called a coward?

This is just f***ing GREAT! Obama's going to start WW III just so he can slam his dick on the table.

It's the same here Angillion, haha. It's in the constitution, but nobody respects it anymore.

What did I miss now? Is this a Snowden reference?

No, it's a Syrian one.

David Cameron wanted to have the UK military attack Syria, or at least be authorised to do so.

Although the PM of the UK has a great deal of power in the UK, they can't unilaterally order military attacks on another country unless we're already at war with them. That can only be done by parliament. Not usually a problem, since the PM is the leader of the majority party in parliament and the UK political system is very strongly geared towards members of parliament voting the way that their party tells them to vote. In this case, a large enough number of his own MPs voted against him. That's a fairly serious political embarrassment for him.
