Alah snackbar,

That's funny. See, it kinda sounds like Allahu Akbar but it isn't. That's how you know it's funny.

As I see it, the kid was taken in by neighbours and was fine but the dad believed his whole family was gone and was f'ed up.

When they told him his kid was ok he lost it emotionally and so the neighbours spent a few minutes soothing him before putting the kid in his arms.

You're a nasty piece of work, aren't you?

i didn't cry.. but i was close..

all the BS aside, it's seriously fu.c.k.e.d up to loose a wife, and then lose your child to chemical weapons. No wonder the guy is in shock.

for all the people saying what a drated up country.. be glad you wern't born there.

Boy or girl, I'd be saying, "Thank you, Lord, for the free abortion. No more child support and less over-population."

@Gerry1of1 I hope it did not offend your senses so much. I promise to contact these people and let them react to similar incidents as you please.

PS: "Alah Snackbar", means "praise the lord" so it is not to be associated with beheading and other fu*ed up things done by few a-holes.

@Zismo I beg to differ and I have tons of supporting evidence

@SavageChef His mother died in a previous attack

Am I the only one who wonders where the women are in this story? I mean...dear God...a baby was almost lost. Has he no mother? No grandmother? WTF? Totally drated up country.

Not so proud to be canadian after reading some of the other posts here by canadians. If you cant see the humanity here you are a selfless asshat. Could you imagine believing your kid was killed in some kind of crazy attack and then left to wallow in that sorrow for days only to find out that he in fact wasn't. I can't begin to imagine how he would of felt and how much rejoice he must feel now.

My first reaction is "Those people are eF'd up."
I mean, they show the kid, the dad? collapses, then they take the kid away, and some guy is screaming "Alah Snackbar"over and over and there's a chain smoker, and it's all just weird.

If it was my boy, I'd run up, hold him and never let him go! "I will squeeze you and hug you and love you and call you George..."

Must have been an emotional roller coaster last few days for him. It's sad they are still in danger of losing their lives, let's hope not.

Okay, let me set the stage for you my good sirs.
Place: "Zamalka" town on the outskirts of Damascus, Syria.
Time: August 25th, 2013, four days after Assad's chemical attack(including this area.

The father lost his son during the rush caused by chemical missiles drop and assumed that he died and was burred with many other children.

Neighbors took the child away for a while so the shocked father could calm for a bit and gather his strength.

It is not very cleat but I think the child's mother died before in another attack.

Old man at 5:42 curses Assad and prays to God that he gets his comeuppance soon.

Man at 6:16 says that he lost his three children, their mother, and his two brothers in attacks by Assad.

I felt kind of awkward watching this. It's like those videos they make were some soldier comes home after being away for some time and surprises their kids or parents who didn't expect to see them. And they shoot video of the family to get everyone's reactions as they realize he is home.
Except in this one I felt like it was such a private emotional family moment that the camera man shouldn't even be there. And by extension that made me feel like I shouldn't be watching it. Very awkward.

The beginning left me confused and angry, I didn't understand why they wouldn't let him be near him at first. I wish there was a translation or some sort of backstory, but yes, 3:30 is touching and seeing how fast baby calms down once Dad has him. Watching it a second time had me in tears.

First three mins - 'no way is this making me cry, what's going on anyway?'. 3.30 onwards 'why are we so cruel to each other? Love is so pure.' and then I cried. You win Draculya.

It was a very happy moment.
