It makes me think that I don't get how people can't see the blatant lefty media bias in the main-stream news. Does anyone even watch that anymore? I get all my news from John Stewart, er... I mean, from as many independent sources as I can find.

Al Jazeera is pretty solid, but I guess most Americans start to hyperventilate when they come across Arab stuff. Except Mrs. Clinton. She agrees.

"They are allouwed, nay, encouraged to be as unbiased as they can"

Not allowed.
Not encouraged.

They are REQUIRED to be unbiased.

the bbc, much like a lot of counterparts in europe are funded by the government, but they are not in the pockets of the government. They are allouwed, nay, encouraged to be as unbiased as they can which gives rise to the believe in a lot of european countries that broadcasting companies like this are left wing orriented, which is not really true but well, this is mostly vieuwed like this by rightwing parties that have a problem floggin their agenda's. This in turn gave rise to some rightwing broadcasting companies to offset the percieved balance...

this is offcourse not true in all european countries, for example, in italy the general broadcasting companies are owned privatly and used for political gain which started a group of left wing percieved broadcasting companies.

what i find truly interesting in this is that depending on what the powers to be feel largely determens wether a broadcasting company is either left or right winged.. we dont seem to think for ourselv

If you want news you need a source outside the United States.

@Gerry, I hope you don't mean the BBC. They're totally in the government's back pocket. One of the biggest tax swindles the government runs.

CrakrJak, wrong again. CBS is at war with Time Warner cable, not Time Warner. Different companies. Pretty much everything you say is BS.

None of them own the EIB Network! The only truthful independent news source in existence.

Most radio stations that I've had experience with were privately owned but they used syndicated news.

Two of these are at war with one another right now. TW and CBS are going at it and it's getting ugly.

All of these are hard left except for NewsCorp which leans only slightly to the right. Fox New Channel = right; Fox Broadcast = left, New York Post = right, Wall St. Journal news section = left, Wall St. Journal opinion section = right (right:left = 3:2).

4 are "Liberal" one is "Right Wing" and the other is Barack Obama's B!TCH...

Strike that!
ONE is "Right Wing" (Center-Right, honestly)
FIVE are BHO's "Liberal Lap Dogs" of a female persuasion...

No mention of the thousands of newspapers and hundreds of television station NOT owned by corporate conglomerates. Biased reporting is biased.

This is news to someone? There were 7 in the '90s and people complained. Why do you think there is so little coverage of corporate wrongdoing? Only when it's too big to hide do you hear anything negative about those companies.

If you want news you need a source outside the United States.
