@Kalimata
I see your point, but I disagree. If you have to cover your butt by adding "supposedly" to a statement, it doesn't belong in a list of "Things You Didn't Know" (unless the list is "Things You Didn't Know Allegedly Happened").

handimanner's got it right - I don't know why people single out this religion, when Christians, Islamics, Hindus etc. etc. etc. all believe equally bogus and ridiculous doctrine. It's a business, just like any other. You have to know that the people at the top of the hierarchy of any religion don't actually believe religious nonsense!

"When one puts "...Things You Didn't Know..." in a video title, one should probably avoid hearsay allegations and stick to things one knows to be true."

The Co$ uses litigation as a weapon to try and silence detractors. One must be extremely careful about how you say things. That is why the language is the way it is.

A theology created by a science fiction author with sex and drug issues.
Just like any other religion, it's all about the bucks.

Just out of curiosity, how is Scientology more drated up than say... Christianity???

While I don't prescribe to the Scientology religion at all, I can more easily believe in Aliens than I can a God.

I would also like to point out that a Religion and a Cult are the exact same drating thing. So to say that it's a religion in one country and a cult in another country means that you obviously don't know enough about religions to be talking about religious.

@Gerry1of1:

Well said, sir.
Just don't bad-mouth Thor. Or Isis. Or Bacchus.

That's it. Pretty much just Thor, Isis and Bacchus.
Oh, and Shiva...'cause Shiva can give you the power to rip the heart out of someone's chest. Just not Indiana Jones.

Okay...Thor, Isis, Bacchus, Shiva and Indiana Jones. The rest, though...they're just nonsense.

Well, when you drive down the road where the nuns and priests live, they don't chase you down with cars with more antenna than something out of a Spiderman flick. I live in a small town that has a Scientology cult resort. They are creepy, and scary.

Xenu and all that is no more or less far-fetched than Yahweh, Allah, Vishnu, or Ra.

When creating a "10 things you didn't know" list, you can't use words like "Allegedly" and "Supposedly". And you certainly can't use both of those words in the #1 position of things people don't know! This ruins credibility of the list.

"I’d like to start a religion. That’s where the money is."

- L. Ron Hubbard to Lloyd Eshbach, in 1949; quoted by Eshbach in OVER MY SHOULDER: REFLECTIONS ON A SCIENCE FICTION ERA, Donald M. Grant Publisher. 1983

"reportedly" "supposedly" "allegedly" ??

Check out "Operation Clambake" one of the best resources on $cientology. It even offers links to official Co$ websites so you can go and compare what is said on clambake and what the Co$ says.
