McTabbin, you must have a sad life. People take their kids there once every few years because kids love cartoon characters and the like, it's hardly this buzzword "consumerism". Also, if Disney didn't exist, those jobs just wouldn't exist. Alas, you are not dictator and cannot redirect manpower to your every wish and desire.

All I'm thinking is, that's alot of resources and manpower squandered for the mere enjoyment and distraction of the public to escape reality into an even more pretentious reality. Consumerism at its finest.

The night time maintenance one isn't a 100% thing at all. It might have been at one time, but daytime maintenance is fairly routine now, albeit not as much as at night.

it's like georgie's "industrial light and magic", a lot of industry, very little magic.

Not bad business for an opium addict (Disney).

A buddy of mine is electrical/mechanical tech and works on the rides there. He said he loves working there, pay is good and they get to ride all the rides before they're open to the public. They also get free admission into the park anytime so his 5 yr old daughter wants to go all the time.

Don't forget the staff of six acrobat/contortionists required to satisfy Mickey's unholy urges three times a day, every day.

I would have guessed a lot more then 62,000 for employees. It's absolutely massive down there.

23 resorts (more being built now)- That's maids, front desk, maintenance, food, up keep, pools, landscapers, security, etc.

Buses- not just the ones that go from resorts to parks but also the magical express from air port to parks or cruises

Speaking of cruises------

How about the phones and websites? Reservations, planning, add-ons

Downtown Disney- stores, food, etc etc etc

I haven't even touch on the water parks or 4 theme parks yet and all that goes into them with massive amounts of staff.

I would have guessed much more for disney employees.

I wish I were in epcot right now eating creme brulee
