Ay May Zing!
I have a friend with Parkinsons who would find this very informative. Well done the clever people.

@Ozmose We could just take the money they're using to build the NSA's massive spy machine. God knows, the military could endure a little fat trimming.

Would that be money taken from working Americans, money borrowed from the Chinese, or money created out of thin air by the Fed?

Actually, we, as in the US, pay for a HUGE portion of all pharma and medical research. And then, on TOP of that, we turn around and pay top dollar via MEDICARE, MEDICAID, VA, etc. to use it. They're getting us twice while selling at reduced prices to other countries. So, Ollie, we already ARE paying for it. Just that our politicians (from BOTH sides of the aisle) are in way too deep to big corporations.

As for your ideas, Mr. onoffonoffon, the same ideas you espouse (lower prices) could be accomplished with a single payer system and a national formulary. And no, I'm NOT wrong, and yes, I DO know exactly what I'm talking about.

This SHOULD be free.

I assume, then, you'll be investing YOUR 401K in companies who spend $billions in developing new medical breakthroughs so they can give them away for free.

BTW pharma is not involved. This would be more like biomed. Also, the massive over pricing of the US med industry is caused by insurance. If everyone payed cash, instead of financing their medical care in advance, the cost would be much more realistic. Furthermore, if the mr. big and company didn't stick their nose in everyone's business there overhead wouldn't be crushing to the industry. If you disagree you are wrong.

This SHOULD be free. It's too important to leave to big pharma.
