Went through the zamboni xing every day to commute to work. Indoor ice skate @ 1000 de la Gauchetière, Montréal.

@carmium: I've never met a poutine I didn't like! Even fast-food versions are yummy!

Being a prairie person, I've been eating fries & gravy (with vinegar! & ketchup!) since I was a tot.

All reports I've heard are that poutine in Quebec is FAR better than anywhere else.

At my advanced age, I had never eaten poutine until the other day, when I had to kill some time in a cosmopolitan Vancouver neighbourhood. I wanted lunch, and one place posted a poll result saying they had the best poutine west of Quebec, so I went for it.
So-so fries, lumps of what seemed like melty mozzarella, and generic gravy. I didn't finish it, and tossed half away.
Please tell me the real stuff is much better than that? Anyone from Quebec out there?

You never buy maple syrup? Hand over your passport, we're revoking your citizenship.

It seems to be a staple here in Ontario for sure. Funny story, I had a friend do a degree in England. Before he left his friends all had a big breakfast and he brought real maple syrup but just the generic store brand. He got yelled at by the Europeans for not buying Aunt Jemima because that was "real syrup". Then they tried the good stuff. The entire bottle was gone by the end of breakfast.

"Eh?" is just Canadian for "Huh?" Neither is any more articulate than the other.
And what's with this thing you Americans have about maple syrup? That stuff's expensive as hell and I never buy it. Maybe it's a "back east" staple, I dunno.

Damn, this is the second post to feature "YOLO" today. Don't tell me that poo is coming back!

Also, syrup in a cardboard container??? Mind officially blown.

Lol Gerry. It's spelled "Eh?". The question mark is the most important letter.

GPS coordinates for Tim Hortons isn't necessary. Just stay on whatever road you're on and you'll eventually find a Timmies. Hell...there are 2 in the building where my sister works in Toronto.

*modesty*

I'm just a local phenomenon... Manitoba in general, Winnipeg to be specific...

But I can confirm that Canada is well represented in this photo layout. Except the prairies, it's hard to picture "flatness" eh?
