@Barnk, ketamine is typically used for smaller animals like cats and rabbits.
Phencyclidine (PCP, Angel dust) was purported to have one been used as a horse tranq.

Either way, the damn things are neurotoxins.

Hm... All my dog can do is open doors.. If we want him to stay outside we have to remember to lock him out.

Yeah, MrPeabody, I got that. Really! My point is still that in your crotch is a dumb place to put any fresh, hot coffee. Actually, it's a dumb place to put any drink when your legs are going to be moving, unless it's some kind of a fetish!

It seems to me that any freshly brewed coffee would be hot enough to make that placement REALLY stupid!

The problem is that it was hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns that required surgery and a lengthy hospital stay. Also this was not the first time it was brought to McDs attention. If you can stomach it look at the pic I linked to.

Also click the hotcoffeemovie link I posted, and watch the segment from the Colbert Report where she talks about why it is portrayed the way it is.

His high metabolism rate isn't the only reason Parker is called the Mini Dumper

@MrPeabody,
The McDonald's case is an odd one. I read at the time, obviously can't confirm the truth of it, that she placed the cup between her legs and drove away. It seems to me that any freshly brewed coffee would be hot enough to make that placement REALLY stupid! Anyway, the site (mlaw.org) has some pretty interesting stuff in it. Take a look at their "loony lawsuits" section.

cont...

She just wanted McDs to pay her medical bills, but they only offered her something like $1000. That is why she sued them, and it was the jury who awarded her $2.7 million in damages. The $2.7 mil was later reduced to something like $400,000 in appeals.

The reason people don't know the facts of this case is that the injured woman was not allowed to talk about the case as a condition of the settlement, but McDs could talk about it. That is why it is known as the woman who sued over hot coffee, and not the woman who received severe 3rd degree burns.

hotcoffeethemovie. A lawyer made a documentary on this case as well as a few other similar cases and discuses why the corporations and insurance industry hide the details in order push the agenda of tort reform.

Since your link mentions McDonald's coffee, Here is a post I made from another similar thread:

"Y'all do recall the American woman who sued McD's because her hot coffee scalded her leg when it spilled, no?"

That's how McDonalds, and the insurance industry would have you remember it, but if you look into the facts of the case, the Woman received third degree burns from coffee that was between 180-190 degrees, it was so hot that it melted the fat in her labia. As a result she spent 8 days in the hospital, and needed several reconstructive plastic surgeries. All of this was after McDonalds had previously settled over 700 claims from hot coffee burns, but chose not to reduce the temperature to around 140 degrees like most restaurants.

@ Ollie, kidding aside, there are studies that indicate dogs are telepathic. A British study took the owners away without telling them for how long while cameras monitored the dogs. Within 15 minutes of informing the humans that the would now go home {some after 2 hours, some 4,6 or 8 hours} 60% of the dogs ran to the windows waiting for them. How did the dogs suddenly know the owners were on their way home?

Look it up, it's true.

Absolutely. My boxers {rest their souls} could spell.

@Gerry My dog Jack (rest his soul) was telepathic! All you had to do was THINK "Wanna go bye-bye?" and he'd go nuts! He could tell time, too. Ten minutes before Dad came home from work, he'd go sit on the bottom step of the stairs and wait for him. He'd also ring the back doorbell when he wanted in.

But, alas, try as we might, we never could teach him to read.

The disclaimer absolves big pharma of liability if some junkie or teen is stupid enough to pop a dog pill to see what it feels like. Don't say it couldn't happen -- Ketamine, a horse tranquilizer, is widely (ab)used.

Absolutely. My boxers {rest their souls} could spell. They knew what R-I-D-E and T-R-E-A-T spelled and they knew where "You-Know-Where" was...the beach.

Unless you get the medication filled at a vet office, you likely won't have specialty stickers that leave the 'don't operate machinery' off. I work in a pharmacy; when we fill pet meds, this happens all the time.
