Turdburglar - Just seems to me your point is diminished entirely by your predilection to label europeans twats. As for Canoas, I must admit I'm not privvy to any previous encounters you two have had but his question seemed reasonable enough.

This entire gun debacle seems to turn certain people into raving loonies. Now I'll give you not everyone approaches this debate with any decorum but honestly how is acting like that any better? Thing is I see similar non sensical stuff out of Gerry and whilst he may or may not mean it he has a certain 'flair' shall we call it and brings humour to the table whilst doing so. You just ooze contempt and naturally you're gonna be victim to trolls, morons and everything in between who are the same people your railing against!

That is a weapon i approve for home defense. Single shot disposable gun, i wouldn't require a license for this type of weapon. You could make it semi-disposable, you'd need to buy a new firing "gate" after each shot..

Very easy to make it more user friendly, build couple of very simple grips, a mechanism that doesn't break until enough force is applied (kind of a gate), it releases that force fast, you don't need such a large motion..

Also safety is easy to accomplish and even without safety, that kind of thing can not happen accidentally, also small kids can't operate it, they can't create enough force.

Of course it would be cheap and easy to imitate and hacked in the hood. But having bunch of kids with single shot disposable weapons that are effective up to 20-30m sound much less scary than 15 year olds with Glocks..

Vexys - To answer your question...There is a simple explanation to why I singled out canoas...he is an idiot. As for the 3d printed gun and the possible laws it violates...I didn't say it was legal. I said it was a waste of time and money to try and stop the plans from spreading.

When I say your generation is the stupidest ever, I realize there are exceptions to the rule. For the most part it is true. Also when I say europeans are twats, I realize there are exceptions to the rule. For the most part, the eurotwats here on IAB are not part of the exception.

@McGovern1981 StemCell research? I have no problem with Stem Cell research. Currently in process of writing a paper to be published on it. Looking at state funding for scientific research with religious funding and looking at how interest groups have influenced it at an EU level. I'm not saying this can be stopped, I'm saying it's something that needs to be properly maintained and monitored like Stem Cell research and GM crops. All dangerous if not properly monitored or get's put to nefarious means.

I don't need to own a gun, I want to go shoot for fun I go to a range...

'What I said is in no way raciest.'

Nope, not even racy let alone the raciest. Gerry is probably the raciest around here.

say it's a dangerous development for society. That should be followed with caution and prepared for.

They said the same of stem cell research but for some reason you had a problem with that being stopped but not this.

@5Cats I grew up in Haringey one of the most deprived areas in London and the UK, single parent poor family. Didn't stop me being able to go to a range and go shooting. Same when I visited Australia was able to go to a range and go shooting. Even stumped up the money and fired .44 Magnum.

If you also look at the rural farm families across the UK. Most own shotguns which have been passed down generation to generation.

The difficulty to own a gun is you mostly will need a wall mounted safe, to make sure they can't be stolen easily. Otherwise it's fairly simple to get a Firearms license. Just got to a range a few times, prove you got somewhere safe to store them (most ranges will store them for you) Then apply showing shooting history and you'll usually get it. Granted yes Snowdrop removed handguns.

There is no problem with recreational firing. Skeet is fun. But they're also regulated.

Problem with the 3d printing is as the guy said he's a crypto anarchist. He want's everyone to be able to get a gun easily. It doesn't matter how much you say home made weapons are easily made. It's still easier and there will be a great deal more who are capable of printing them

Why is this a problem? Read some Rousseau John Locke Habermass and Hobbes, The Philosophers who influenced the creation of your constitution. Check out the Social contract and the reason we have it. The goal of arming everyone is an attempt to bring us back to the state of nature, which is an unsafe place to be.

And one of the great lines commonly expounded. Outlaw guns and only criminals will have them. That's the point this just made it a lot easier for criminals to get them.

The bell has been rung and can't be unrung true, but doesn't mean we can't call the designer an idiot and say

Turdburglar - before you go on about Europeans and bla bla bla im just another irrational turd (c what i did thar?) on the internet again please review the following points

a)why aim that rant at Canoas'? It may be relevant to the video but certainly irrelevant to Canoas' perfectly innocuous question

b) Whilst it may be true its a knee jerk reaction by the American government, they at the moment have stated a perfectly viable reason to do so and oh, would you look at that! Its all there in your laws which I'm oh so sure you're so very read up on. You know the one, where you aren't allowed to release ITAR-controlled technical data without the required authorization from the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls?

But can't people just buy a proper gun? Why does he need a home made one? To save money?

@Canoas: Perhaps he fears that the US government might "come for all his guns"? Unless he has a LOT of money of course! Like in Australia and Britain, eh? Where the RICH have guns and the poor have... well nothing. The Cops took all their firearms away, didn't they?

@ByField: U R A Idiot! Just a little FYI - Buddy!

I hope YOU get banhammered for DISCRIMINATION against poor @turdburglar! He's afflicted with the DOUBLE CURSE of fecalphilia AND kleptomania! Yet you DISPARAGE him in VIOLATION of at least 15 British Laws...
Turn yourself in IMMEDIATLY!

vikingguy - I apologize to you. I have noticed that you are alot more reasonable than other europeans your age.

Byfield and others - I completely realize that my comments were very broad, and that it isn't fair to lump everyone into groups like I have. Still, I do not apologize. This site is CONSTANTLY filled with anti-American comments by IAB's vocal eurotwats. Why is it ok when YOU do the exact same thing. Why is europe off limits? What I said is in no way raciest. Go cry in a pillow you little baby. The arrogance of IAB's vocal europeans is amazing. It is as if you think America should strive to be more like you, which hasn't been the case since the tea party. Try to be more consistent with your bitchin. Don't dish it if you can't take it.

*really affect. Then again the ability to actually form a coherent thought seems to be becoming rarer and rarer and pants pissing at anything different more and more common.

Not everyone turdburglar, the EU sport shooters like myself absolutely despise the logic those people use, not to mention just emotional overreactions instead of actually learning about an issue. I often have to explain to people that owning my meager blackpowder collection does not in fact make me a terrorist or psycho or any of that stupidity and they usually come away with a bit of clarity.

Getting treated like scum and turned away from the range to "go think about what we´re doing" every time some sort of stupidity involving a gun happens gets irritating to say the least, but is more the fault of the governments here employing people without practical knowledge or experience on much of any topic to make the regulations or form committees on matters along with the piss poor stance taken in education on the topics.

I´d say people everywhere need to learn the difference between a hobbyist and a criminal and who their misguided attempts

Canoas - You are the last person on the internet I expect to talk or understand logic or reason...but I'll give it a shot anyways.

This post is a direct response to the 3d printed 22 cal gun posted before. Some pussies (mainly european, and twats in your generation) were making comments about how they should be be shutdown by the govt. and that the world is somehow less safe. This shotgun is so simple a dumb little euro twat like yourself could make one for a couple bucks. The parts can't be banned, because they are plumbing parts available at a hardware store. The government is wasting time trying to remove the blueprints from the web, and even if they could, there are other options like this.

Like I said, I don't expect a guy who feels bad for a rapist who was shot while breaking into someones house to understand basic rights and logic. You, your generation, and your side of the alantic are hopeless.

And again andrew....now, explain why regulating the AR-15 is such a big deal instead of say, the Type-56 sporter carbines? Or perhaps the L1A1? Or about any other "scary looking" semi-automatic rifle.

Answer: It isn't.

Also the magazine cap regulations are useless, I grew up in a US town with plenty of ex-military who had taken any variety of magazines with them on leaving the army. They´ll still be in circulation long after any bans. It´s the same case here in the EU, hence why some countries require a civilian replica of a military automatic to use a different magazine than it´s military counterpart. See the German SL-8 for an example of that type of firearm.

Campaign to resolve the way society is going downhill in more constructive ways, such as better care for the mentally ill, better education, more civilian awareness on social matters such as poverty and community building.

I like how everyone on the internet is an expert on zip guns now that somebody 3D printed a gun.

3D printing is a big deal because it makes all magazine bans obsolete, as well as making the regulation of AR-15's impossible since the only piece that is regulated can be printed.
