Honestly if the opinions of 10 million internet-jackoffs got to him then he had problems LONG before the video came out. I don't feel bad for him at all. Once you let the opinions of others rule what you think of yourself you've truly forgotten what matters in the first place.

what a sad and different world from the one i lived in as a high school kid (mid 1970's). we just called one another b*tches and sluts and whores and slept with each other's boyfriends. nothing so traumatic as films of rape posted or passed around (like steubenville and other locales) or other forms of cyberbullying.

i'm glad he's says he's over it. but looking at him, he still looks damaged.

i wish i could hug him and tell him things get better as you get older but i don't know what kind of future is ahead for all of us in this post-everything-you-ever-do/say/think atmosphere that we live in now.

syke22,
Cyberbullying is real in at least 2 ways. For one thing it isn't restricted to the cyber world since everyone at school, work, etc. gets to see it and take part in real time. The other is that the victim probably can't help thinking that now the whole world knows and there's no where to go where he/she isn't going to be recognised and further antagonised. I don't know that the last would pertain to social networking sites (I consider them "stalker networking sites"), but, if you're in a video that's gone viral worldwide, I can understand how you might feel you've lost any chance at privacy without remianing in solitude.

@Kegomatrix:
Good for you! I had a problem in junior high school for a while. Problem was resolved after I punched out a few of the jerks who thought they were cool enough to get away with it. I also got suspended. Also needed stitches in my hand where it got cut on a tooth I broke out of one guy's face. As you noted, though, it was well worth it! Unfortunately, not everyone is able to resolve these issues for themselves - maybe not big enough, strong enough, or gutsy enough. Sometimes too many against them. And sometimes these are the ones who bring a gun to school...

I would never advocate bullying, but I do think it is pitiful how some people let it rule them.

There was a time that I was bullied on a daily basis. I never really let it get to me much, but one day I guess it pushed me overboard. One of the usual school bullies spit at me, so I threw his head into the wall and beat the living poo out of him. Got suspended, but it was well worth it. I never let anyone pick on me again lol. I do think that day literally defined who I am for the rest of my life.

Cyberbullying isn't the same as real life bullying.
You can turn the phone/computer off without them smashing you to the ground.

@syke22 "I don't believe cyberbullying is a real thing" - Teens already have Committed suicide because of cyber-bullying. That makes it pretty real. Telling people to get over it is about as sensitive and useful as telling anyone who's feeling depressed, sad or angry to just 'get over it'.

I feel bad for him if he got bullied at school, but honestly I don't believe cyberbullying is a real thing. It's the internet and people are going to be dicks, get over it.
