"you mean to tell me that video I watched of someone using a blow torch on pepto COULD have been widescreen? What an inconsiderate Prlck!"

complaining about vertical videos makes you a jaded asshat. Why dont you get to the root of the problem and complain to cell phone manufacturers for making it an option. Wait that might be TOO productive for some of you.

Ohh grammar Nazi.

Actually "torch" is a verb. To set on fire.

Can you imagine if Hollywood widescreen blockbusters were filmed and shown vertically?

The movie industry would die within weeks.

Who are the mindless morons that keep doing this idiocy?

Well, we've seen the Pepto burning mentioned in this post). So now for the science nerd explanation: we started with bismuth subsalicylate, which is pretty much a mixture of bismuth and carbon. The expected complete combustion products are bismuth trioxide and carbon dioxide. However, pooled in a spoon like in this video, there's not enough oxygen getting to the burning Pepto. In this case, the oxygen attaches preferentially to the carbon, leaving some bismuth metal. We can tell that we didn't get the oxide, because that would be yellow-colored.
