@Rodin - I doubt that they have informal chat like that on some of the Middle Eastern news networks. I could be wrong, but I just don't see Al Jazeera or related sources doing a lot of stuff like that.

That was sweet! Good for them! Really romantic too :swoons:

This sort of "public exhibitionism" is nothing new! It may be one of our oldest human traditions!

Learning (seeing, hearing, reading, & etc) about interesting things happening to other people is the VERY ESSENCE of good storytelling! The Ancient Greeks knew that...

This kind of thing has been going on for 3,000+ years. "Social Media" just makes it easier...

"Now, let's talk about this exhibitionist streak of late in our culture where we think things like proposals..."

I blame social media. Too much of society has become convinced they must tell the world about every meal and every bowel movement. Apparently, it's contagious.

Aw. Sweet.

Now, let's talk about this exhibitionist streak of late in our culture where we think things like proposals, stealthily returning from war to surprise our loved ones, finding our long-lost twin sister, etc., should be aired in public. I'm not sure I like the trend. Not because I'm offended by it, per se, just, holy crap, it seems somewhat a little bit yucky, I guess.

Every city in the US and most other countries? What countries are you not including in the list?

Now, once they're married, are they still brother and sister? Will their kids call him Uncle, Dad or Uncle-Dad?

OH I see.....it can only be news that directly affects a large number of people. God forbid there's ever any humanity or any conversation beyond the actual news. Like the kind of stuff that happens on every f*cking newscast in every city in the US and most other countries. All of those extra words and conversations that normal people enjoy, because it shows the human side of the newscasters, is irrelevant and stupid.

Yes, Rodin is not only a tool. He's also a douche of fancy-tastic proportions.

News doesn't have to be bad and depressing -- but it should be relevant.

And in other news -- 300 people died in a Bangladesh factory that collapsed.

And in other news - Rodin is a tool. Because all news has to be bad and depressing.
