My father just ranted for an hour that mirandizing is stupid. People should be born mirandized.

I work at a local TV station and it's true. I was getting twitter feeds of what was going on way before the network would send us a "cut in". and whats funny this is the same for severe weather as well. Google was alerting me faster on my phone than the EAS weather service was to run a crawl along the screen of the TV.

Those of us old enough to remember the endless delays in launching and landing Moon rockets can recall poor Walter Cronkhite (and Wally Schirra!) desperately trying to fill three-hour gaps while the launch was on hold for some tech to tighten a bolt, or while Armstong and Aldrin were going thru a 168-point checklist before they could finally walk on the Moon.
I've taken to calling these live coverage fiascos ("We just heard a noise, Jane. It could have been a gunshot... or a loud fart") Moon launches, as in "Oh Christ. This is turning into another Moon launch."
Just thot I'd share...

Is this the equivalent of reading out a morse-code telegram over the phone?

Is it awful of me to wish both suspects had dies? OMG the endless trial stuffs now.....for months....endlessly

AND they didn't Mirandize him because of a special rule. REALLY, they couldn't take the two minutes to do it; because you know his lawyers are going to bring that into play and the creep is going to get off on a technicality.

Gerry - start watching CCTV (Chinese Govt's English language rolling news channel) - which covers Asia quite well, or Al-Jazerra (which can be a little too heavy on the Middle East for my tastes at times).

The BBC's okay in light bites until something BAD happens to the USA, then it goes all frothy at the mouth and loses rationality and focuses on the US story to the detriment of all others.

Hell, on Thursday the UK lost it's Fitch AAA rating. Normally that would be MASSIVE news, but no, it barely featured cos of the Boston Bomber. Meanwhile, the Iraq bombing story that killed 29 and injured over 200 didn't feature at all!

First it was a pipe bomb. wrong
Then a larger pot bomb. correct
Then it was two. correct
Then it was two bombs that hadn't gone off. wrong
Then is was an arab who did it and they had him. wrong.
They searched the wrong guys apartment. correct
Then they were deporting him per Sauda Arabia request. wrong
Then no one knew anyting but they talked non stop for 20 hours about nothing.

The cable news channels are all a joke. FOX is the funniest joke, but none of them are reliable for anything resembling "news".

An while they are only covering 1 story non-stop, what's happening in the rest of the world? I'd like to know.
