Thursday, March 21, 2013 4:39:17 PM Pretty good point really, there are exceptions of course but on the whole I think Carl hit it on the head. |

Thursday, March 21, 2013 6:42:41 AM As a scientist myself, I can say that most scientist are full of poo as well, they lie, cheat, fabricate data and simply choose theories and arguments which fits the data just to get published. It angers me! |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 10:17:36 PM People find and lose faith all the time. They also change their positions on political issues and even switch parties, although this is more often done for cynical reasons rather than a true change of mind. |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 8:55:46 PM Carl Sagan was a wise and amazing man, and, too, seemed to have a definite spiritual side to him Nah, he was just a pot head. |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 8:54:51 PM Scientists aren't all that intellectually honest. Many of them become very defensive when confronted with contrary evidence and will even try to "hide the decline." |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 8:17:02 PM Still, science without religion is lame, and religion without science is blind... |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 5:49:48 PM "Bull, there are many examples of scientists who after having spend all their lives working on a theory that ends up being wrong die insisting they are correct. " Yep, accepting that their whole life's work is completely useless should be pretty hard to accept. It's not very hard to believe that some would go into denial. Still, science doesn't care. You can believe whatever you want and deny whatever you want, it still doesn't matter since science is based on evidence, not beliefs. |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 4:54:02 PM This is bull. I read a book on the history of science, they're not these infallible super creatures. In fact, some of them are mean. The dinosaur wars? They were brutal. |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 4:47:55 PM "IF there were a god, his name would be CARL SAGAN." That's funny, I always thought it was Angus Young. |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 4:44:51 PM Environmentalism Is The New Religion Or so Michael Crichton thinks in this essay. I considered offering it in suggestions, but it has more than 11 words, and some have multiple syllables! :-o "The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda." |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 3:54:47 PM Bull, there are many examples of scientists who after having spend all their lives working on a theory that ends up being wrong die insisting they are correct. Even Einstein rejected some of the claims quantum physics was making that are scientifically correct. |

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 2:25:41 PM Cause unlike Religion and Politics, Science has a procedure called the scientific process that can "Prove" a theory, or at least show some good evidence to support it. Things you can reproduce so easily, can't be proven. But that doesn't mean they aren't true. |
