YugureKage, How can you say that these deaths, and these people profession do not go hand in hand? Porn is the ultimate personification of live fast and die young. We revel in watching them live fast. They live dying young. Find me another profession with that many suicides and drug overdoses. |

i strongly believe that having so many relations with different people really tears you down. theyre right, porn isnt glamorous. it can completely break a soul down. |

It was horribly sad to me as well, but I don't agree with this because of a few things.The things that these people died of are things people die of who aren't in porn, so I don't believe there is much of a correlation between the death and the profession. Though I don't have any stats to back up my belief. People over dose, commit suicide, die of cancers and liver problems, are murdered, and die in car wrecks all the time regardless of their profession. |

@madduck The foundation, if I'm correct, was founded by former porn stars. Netflix actually has a pretty interesting documentary called "When Porn Ends" which focuses on where certain actors and actresses are since retiring. Nina Hartley presents a very accurate view of "faith" and its role for actors and actresses.
OT : It doesn't surprise me the number of suicides. I don't think porn has anything to do with it. I think that these men and women would have likely done it regardless. I wasn't aware that Anna Malle and Jon Dough had both died. Surprised me to see them there. |

now- devils advocate here- but that Pink Cross lot are 'faith based'- and having been to the web site there is a real judgemental attitude there. Given a big pool of people doing any job there will be a lot who die early. The number depends how long and how big. Is there a statistical link- are you more likely to die early if you work in the porn industry, rather than just including them with sex workers in general? quite a few of these would have died no matter what job they did.. |

I'm guessing that in general, psychologically healthy, well adjusted individuals don't go into the porn trade- it's not surprising that their mortality rate is high.
While it's sad that folks suffer and die needlessly, they are entertainers- I feel no more need to mourn these strangers than any other. |
