Tuesday, March 12, 2013 10:03:35 AM "No other civilized countries stone people for adultery, apostasy and blasphemy. Most other countries give women all the same rights as men. And in nowhere else is rape considered the fault of the victim. " - Bullpoo on 70% of that. Women here in the states, on average, get less of a salary than men and there are instances of rape here where the victims are blamed. "Well, she was asking for it, she shouldn't have dressed like that, etc" Also, there are Christians here in the states pushing for Christian based reforms in politics. Teaching "Creationism" in school, "In god we trust", "the US was founded on Christian ideals". Hell, people made a big deal b/c they thought Obama was a "muslim". |

Monday, March 11, 2013 11:34:00 PM whodat: That may be true, However socially islam, in particular sharia law, has been responsible for rolling back the clock in the middle east. No other civilized countries stone people for adultery, apostasy and blasphemy. Most other countries give women all the same rights as men. And in nowhere else is rape considered the fault of the victim. Until the islamic countries accept the rest of the world's societal and legal norms, then there will not be any lasting peace in the region. |

Monday, March 11, 2013 11:23:09 AM "The middle east had one of the greatest intellectual and scientific booms in history, while Europeans were busy learning how to bathe." That's true, and they were killing each other the whole time. Intellectual & scientific progress aren't hindered if a country/region is at war. WWII is perfect example. |

Monday, March 11, 2013 9:22:59 AM @Wendypants: Except the fans who left were from HIS team! Not the opposition. Weird eh? It wasn't clearly offside, and he does appear to "chest" the ball although he got his left arm in a terrible position. Just my Canadian Humble Opinion! "I'm ashamed of the role Britain had in establishing their nation." @IRockYeah: It was British policy around the Empire to pit one local "tribe" against another, let them fight, then step in "to make peace" (and beat them both into submission). They did it everywhere, but it worked especially well in Africa and the Middle East. They're not "soley" to blame, but they sure didn't help the situation. Plus they restricted Jews from escaping Europe before, during AND AFTER WW2... |

Monday, March 11, 2013 5:23:56 AM It looked like he might have been offside and that looked like a handball!!! THAT'S why I would have left. What was the ref watching?!?! Hmm, maybe a different camera angle would show that better. |

Sunday, March 10, 2013 9:57:45 PM "There will never be peace in the middle east, ever... never has been, never will. You can thank religion for that." Jews and Palestinians lived together pretty harmoniously for a while. Things got screwed up when the world started redrawing the maps. The religious aspect is just a superficial division. |

Sunday, March 10, 2013 8:08:16 PM "As I understand it, the muslim player Zaur Sadayev has made anti-jewish comments in the past. He's a Chechnian Muslim and "Death to Isreal" the theme. So, yeah, I don't blame them." Source? I can't find anything to corroborate this. Why would he play for an Israeli team if he was anti-semitic? Anyway, the quotes from the fans don't seem to care one way or another if he's made anti-Israel comments. This quote just makes them sound like ignorant idiots: "It’s not racism, they just shouldn’t be here. Beitar Jerusalem has always been a clean club, but now it’s being destroyed – many of the other players are thinking of leaving because of the Muslim players being here.†|

As I understand it, the muslim player Zaur Sadayev has made anti-jewish comments in the past. He's a Chechnian Muslim and "Death to Isreal" the theme. So, yeah, I don't blame them. On the other hand, if they knew he was playing, why buy a ticket and go in the first place? I'd have saved money and just stayed home. |

Sunday, March 10, 2013 5:36:36 PM "The player is from Russia, by the way." Chechnya, to be specific. "The reason people support Israel is because it is a stronghold of science and technology that supports gay rights, women's rights, and even the democratic process." I don't think any of us are saying anything to the contrary. Israel contributes a lot to the world. I posted this mainly because I thought it was despicable, and also to counter the prevailing opinion that the only bigoted side of the conflict is Arabs/Muslims. |

Sunday, March 10, 2013 4:37:15 PM Bigots and racists come in all varieties, nothing new. These "so called fans" fire-bombed the Soccer Club's HQ because 2 Muslims were hired? Who needs that sort of "fan"? Cheesus! |
