Monday, March 04, 2013 7:46:31 AM Most people make the same stupid mistake with an "invisible fence". They think that you set it up, put the collar on the dog, and you're done. Wrong. It doesn't take most dogs long to figure out that once they're so far on the other side of "that place", it stops shocking them, and that the quicker they pass over it, the less time it shocks them for. You have to train the dog to stop when it feels the shock. Breed is irrelevant, temperment is irrelevant. If you don't use the product correctly, it just won't work correctly, period. |

Sunday, March 03, 2013 12:57:39 PM Invisible fencing isn't always an option, and some dogs (though probably not this one) don't respond to them as well as you would think. I know a lady who had to give up her English bulldog puppy because he basically laughed at the invisible fence collar. |

Sunday, March 03, 2013 11:23:20 AM @DJL: It looks stupid...but its a much cheaper version than an electric fence. Also, what if you go to a dog park and that's the only fence they have? Better to have that than also pay money to get your dog out of the pound! |

Sunday, March 03, 2013 11:14:06 AM @djl. an invisible fence may not work. i'm not sure you can dial the collar's receiver to emit a shock low enough not to kill a small dog like that. but of course i may be wrong. i've never had a dog w/out having a fenced-in yard first. |
