How about buying 2 VCRs and hooking them up in tandom in order to get a grainy copy of Star Wars because buying a used grainy copy of Starwars on VHS from a rental store was more expensive.And buying a new grainy copy was obserdly expensive. |

Where is putting the needle down on your favorite (and irreplaceable) record and praying you dont flench and scratch it up, listed? Or this one, having to log off the online mmrp game/internet inorder to make a phone call? Or hear this "WELCOME, YOU GOT MAIL!" when you go online. |

Spending the weekend typing a program from Compute-Gazette Magazine into a Commodore Vic20 or 64.
Maintaining a dirty magazine stash.
Steamer trunk full of 2600 game cartridges.
Quarter-per-game arcade machines.

It was a rotary phone and your hard drive was a metal cassette tape and movies were on VHS, cigarettes were 23 cents a pack, gas was a buck and a new Les Paul was $500. We wore out vinyl records playing them over and over to get the lyrics wrong. |

I used to do the record (12"vinyl, mind you)to tape thing with a handheld tape recorder. My Mom decided to throw in a random offkey "la la la" in the middle of a song. To this day, I hear it in my head whenever I hear the song. |

Thanks 5cats...Our town didn't have touch tone service either. Our only phone in the house was a rotary dial wall mounted phone with a coiled handset cord about 30 feet long stretched. Does anyone recall living in a rural area where some people were on a party line? |

My kids friends have to speak to me first. I got so fed up with losing the cordless phones I insist on having one corded one- which means when all my free usage allowance runs out I hide all the phones but the corded one...works fairly well!! |
