My friends upstairs neighbor had a parrot that would whistle and cat call any pretty girl that walked under the window.
& then the granddad of the family died.
The parrot never made another sound. Grief stricken probably.

My dad grew up on a plantation in Guatemala, and would often come running to his mother's call of "Ji-i-i-i-i-mmy!" -only to find the parrot on the porch had called him in Mom's voice, and was "laughing" his tail feathers off at him.

Parrots are amazing, especially the African Grey ("Whatever!").
But they're high maintanence, I'll stick to my cats...
