yeah, 110 makes brain no worky. that being said if you have s man with no id, and an escape convict, you probably should detain them until you can verify their identity. |

The fugitive is pacing and moving about nervously the entire time. Huge giveaway. Not saying this is an easy situation, but in retrospect the guy is moving way too much for a regular citizen being stopped by police. |

The guy is a good actor.. Yeah, the cop should have probably caught the name change..
But as @paperduck says, here is a cop that actually hold true to the principles that you all cry for, when there is video of some cop harassing people on the street for no reason... |

Actually, cops are pretty smart. Consider for a minute the officer treated this man respectfully and the man treated the officer with respect as well. The only thing the officer did wrong was miss the name change from Robert to Jimmy. But you have to remember, it was 114 degrees outside, it was a 10 minute friendly conversation, and the officer IS human. So he missed the name change. So what. As police confrontations go, this was a win. |

If he demands ID or detains first and asks questions later of an innocent person, then everyone will complain of their rights being violated. If he abides by the principle to presume innocence of citizens and interfere as little as possible with their freedom and accidently let's an escapee go, people then complain that he didn't do his job or that he's stupid. |
