Yes, and much of the watching is done by high-level "amateurs" that report their findings to the main authority. Today's asteroid was discovered by people in Spain a few years ago. Russia's part of the world needs more amateur sky watchers. |

Friday, February 15, 2013 8:54:22 AM This was NOT 2012 DA14.. that one is coming to earth later today and is known.. what crashed into the atmosphere here was an unknown asteroid that had no designation. We only know about 10% of objects that may cross the earth's path. :) |
